Keyforge Vault Tour Krakow - Cards, Community and Fun

avatar
(Edited)

As always, it's been too long since my last Steem post. Life has been hectic and a lot has been happening in terms of work, personal life and among other activities I have been up to is Keyforge.

I was introduced to the game by @poet , and while it took me some time to get confident enough to play and enjoy myself, once I did I was hooked. After her first open tournament (Vault Tour) in Birmingham, she decided to bring me along to the Krakow one. And it was AWESOME.

In short, it was like a Steemfest in terms of community and like a tabletop evening with friends in terms of buzz and feel. I think the photos say it best, and though I am a person of words, it is truly hard to describe this once in a lifetime experience I fully intend to repeat ASAP.

Damn. Looking at the photos again made me want to go to another awesome event like the Vault Tour. Too bad I can't afford SteemFest this year.

Crap. Should have written a post before going and maybe caught up with some Steemians while there. Didn't think of it. Next year I will!!!

These are actually "sold" in the prize wall. You get "shards" for playing games and opening new decks and can exchange them for pins, play mats, tshirts, card sleeves and a bunch more.

What were you running? My main is Mother Leechtuse, The Secure Fanatic: https://keyforge-compendium.com/decks/e46864e7-fec8-425a-8d39-0d2483b9b8f3

Never said I was any good at the game, but...

This was the deck I went 4-2 with in the main Archon event: https://keyforge-compendium.com/decks/3b5c14cb-43bb-44c1-b90b-e2d473d8dfdb
I love the name because it's very "me": Cynikol, the Malcontent of Spirits

That is an evil, evil deck! Love the name, though. Definitely fits with the deck!

On another note, I'm working on figuring out a way to make a cast aluminum key from a 3D print. I think I figured out a way to make a lost wax mold from a 3D print, and then make the mold in plaster. I'll let you know how it goes!

Oooh please do! Do you read https://timeshapers.com ? It's @poet's blog on Keyforge stuff. Do you play on the Crucible Online?

I'll get progress pics up and going once I make my first wax mold. In the meantime, check out this deckbox! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3351123

I actually streamed it on @vimm a while back! Played Leechtuse against a ridiculous stall deck. Crazy fun, though!

Neat! Do you have it in pink? :)

You can print it in whatever color you want! I usually color code my deck boxes based on the deck I'm putting in it.

It looks like you're having a great time. Those shots remind me a lot of DragonCon, which has just kicked off this weekend here in Atlanta. Happy Friday Tech!

Can't afford Steemfest this year?? I'd transfer the SBD in my wallet, if it would get you there! Seriously. You're generous with your upvotes (mine is still a worthless one-cent dust vote, post-Hardfork), and you've given so much of your time and talent to Steemit. I keep hoping to see new fiction from you, but it's as you say: As always, it's been too long since my last Steem post. Life has been hectic and a lot has been happening... and writing fiction isn't what's happening. May your health be better than ever and may you find more time and resources this year - Happy 2020! (and thank you for upvoting little posts like mine--I notice and appreciate your support!)
