#wednesdaywalk - A Day of Contrast

In Town verse Out of Town

It was a nice day on Tuesday, (yesterday for me), a little bit of early morning rain activity, then a slight clearing of the sky. The morning rain was nice because it knocked down some of the smoke and cleared the air so to speak.

So this I think is my First Post using Steempeak.com instead of Steemit.com. My wife showed me a very nice feature on Steempeak when you want to view pictures. I like to post pictures, and I like to look at pictures.

On Steempeak when you click on a picture you are NOT taken away from the page you are viewing. The image you clicked on opens in what is commonly referred to as a Modal Window, meaning it sits on top of the page you are viewing. When the image opens you are given several options the zoom function is nice, when you are done with looking at the pictures you just close the window.

I will get around to adding a Steempeak banner link like my steemit feed link in the future if I decide I like how this experiment works out. Until then here is a direct link to my Steempeak Profile Page: https://steempeak.com/@bashadow

On with the post now that that is out of the way.

The day of pictures and short walks started in a parking lot. They are working on widening the road.

It was a nice cloud day after the morning rain, so a couple of pictures of them, telephone poles, lines, roads, cars, and construction cones, that is city picture from a parking lot. it was a still a little bit breezy this late afternoon. Contrasting the construction and sky views, I decided to get a little bit closer to a couple of things.

The first is a solitary clover flower, the rest already bloomed out, but the lighting was pretty nice, and the picture contrast of the little white flower in its own field of green, is another interesting contrast.

Same for the Yarrow, it was pretty hard to get a real clear shot because of the breeze, From busy sky and street scenes to a nice shade of green and then this fly trying to hide and shelter from the mayhem taking place.

Yarrow

So those were the in town walk shots and the in town same area contrast just different viewing perspectives. We see what we want to see. So as you all know I do like to make the panoramic shots so for the in/out of town contrast I will start with it.

Pond Pano

All in all that was 10 pictures to create. I must remember to carry my tripod more often with me if nothing else for making these panoramic photo's, I will never improve if I do not use all the tools. This is the same lily pond that I featured in an early post when the lilies were blooming.

This is a view of the pond from the side of the road.

One last view, down close next to the water.
Reflection

The in town pictures were from about 3:30 PM, and the pond shots from about 6:00 PM. The pond sits almost right next to the road, and the tiny parking area is only big enough for two vehicles, you might be able to squeeze three cars, but if there is a truck there you will be lucky to squeeze in.

The two locations are only about 40 minutes apart, but a big contrast in the view and the amount of man made structures to block the over-all view. That is one of the nice things Alaska has to offer a lot of areas of just pure Nature and scenery.

It may have started out as a wet and rainy overcast day, but after the rains we did end up having a pretty nice day.

Okay, Steempeak post making re-cap. Some issues with the uploading of pictures, but I also had that issue on my last post with through steemit, lots of tries to get the pictures to go. One thing I like more on steemit is that instead of a spinning wheel that tells you nothing about the upload progress steemit does have a percentage uploaded counter. It would be nice to see that on Steempeak or a progress bar.

I do like the word count on the preview panel. The other thing I like is the picture viewer, it works even on the preview panel so that is very nice. I likely will opt for using steemit when doing a post primarily of panoramic shots, the modal window does not really handle them very well, you can zoom in, but there is no moving from left to right. Over-all it seems like a very picture friendly place.

It did end up being a pretty nice day, and very few bugs, that season is almost over for us.
