Rastafari: Dressing.

Hello my Reggae friends, I'm back, I'm back, my apologies but now I'm back to share more about everything that has to do with Reggae.

I had agreed on something about Rastafarianism or Rastafarianism, which has a lot to do with Reggae, of course, I had already talked about the origin, now I'm going with the clothes.

If Rastafari clothing, because behind every trend, musical genre, there is also a way of dressing, of combing one's hair that becomes a fashion, that passes, but there are those who don't let it pass, they always use it.

So let's see how this dress is, if you like it or you like us, then let's use it, I have something a Rastafarian hat, very similar.

Those who wear this dress are called "Rastas", those who are passionate about defending their traditions, beliefs and identity.

Dreadlocks represent Rastafarian culture, their hairstyle, long hair, with braids, over time have become a hyper-real symbol for modern and consumer society they can wear them for fashion or because they like it and not because they believe in Rastafarian culture.

For Rastas it is not a fashion, it is a tradition, an ancestral ritual practiced by different societies throughout history.

Rastafarian hats or tams, there are several models, match in the same colors but in different order, fabrics. I have mine but in brown shades.

And finally the clothing is made with vegetable fibers, wide pants, baggy t-shirts, comfortable sandal-like shoes most of the time.

But that if in everything is a hat or the clothes is like tradition and culture of them that the colors should be green, yellow and red. Representing the Mother Earth of Ethiopia, each color has its meaning.

Green represents the colour of nature. Yellow represents wealth. Red represents the Church of the Rastafarians, also the blood spilled by the black martyrs.

And although black is not on the Ethiopian flag, it represents the color of the African people.

Such is the dress of the Rastafarians or Rastas, some wear it because they respect their culture, they know their tradition, while others do it for fashion.

I personally love the tie dye patterns many in the culture wear but I don’t think it is a part of Rasta culture. Looking forward to buy some tie dye jeans somewhere :)
