WindSurfing in Negril - Jamaica, while enjoying the JAHMFEST (26-27 JUNE)

avatar

I want to talk about one of the many things you can do in Jamaica to enjoy, and that is that being an island, water sports are the order of the day. Of course, as I've shown in other publications not all the fun is related to the sea, since this country has great fields, lagoons, rivers and other environments that have been suitable for the locals to make the visit of tourists is the most enjoyable and diverse in terms of fun.

But well, this opportunity I bring a water sport that is pure adrenaline, I mean the:

Windsurfing or water skiing

Negril is practically the most important tourist resort on the island, with its 11 km of coastline, with its white sand is among the best beaches in the world. In this area you can find a huge variety of hotels, restaurants, local shops, and of course the possibility of doing any water sport (diving, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking or sailing on a catamaran).

For those who do not know what windsurfing is, "is a sailing sport that consists of moving in the water on a board somewhat similar to a surfboard, equipped with a sail" Source This subclassified in different modalities as a sport, but if you are not a professional athlete, do not worry, that learning it will be a good experience, surely something new for you and you will enjoy it.

Obviously water sports are not for everyone, since it involves being in the sea, facing the waves, knowing how to swim, and many are simply afraid of it, that is respectable and understandable, however, there is always a way to overcome fears and enjoy the natural.

Here I leave a video for you to have a better idea of what it is about:

Windsurfing At Silver Sands Villas Jamaica

It will strengthen not only your muscles, your body, but your spirit.

Doing sport is always something that will benefit us in many ways, more so if it is in direct contact with nature, and in this case with the sea... A healthy benefit as well as fun.

I take the opportunity to extend the invitation to Negril, not only so that you can windsurf but also so that this June 26, 27 and 28, 2020 you can enjoy the first JahmFest.

I’d love to try that myself. Surfing is hard , Themis looks like it will be a bit easier.

Bro, have you ever been to the 7 Mile Beach in Negril!?
After what i read, i doubt: "...and of course the possibility of doing any water sport (diving, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking or sailing on a catamaran)."
This is straight up not true!
I don't know what happened since 2017 concerning water sports, probably not too much...
I do Windsurfing, i was looking to do it in Jamaica, and i had problems finding rentals. Like your 2011!? video shows, it's only a couple of hotels that offer it, and it's not even sure if you can enter as an "outsider" to just rent it for some hours...
The only thing you can hop on daily easy at the 7 Mile Beach is the catamaran and the glass bottom boat(s)...
If i am wrong, teach me and show me the spots.
Plus this blog is written so superficial, from someone who is obviously not familiar with neither the 7 Mile Beach, nor windsurfing.
Please write about what you know.
Thank you.

Hello @luca1777
Grateful for the first hand information, however, checking the internet is that I get the different information I publish, as many do. Since not all of us can travel and experience it in the present. It is good that you have been able to, besides experiencing that it is not so true that you can practice all sports anywhere.
If I only wrote about what I was personally familiar with, I wouldn't write about Jamaica, or even the Caribbean. Since I haven't had the chance to visit most of the countries. I'm glad you have. And that you can continue to do so, I hope.
I think that, to a great extent, most of us check out different sites on Internet information searches, which is what guides us when writing. If in several pages the information coincides, one could assume it is true. If there is any recommendation to get reliable information, with less margin of error, I would appreciate it, beyond telling me not to write about it.

I can just repeat myself: Write about stuff you know, or you have experience with...
I overstand that not everybody can reach Jamaica to write about it, but at least
concerning this post, you could know something about Windsurfing.... at least one topic ;)
You write about a topic, Windsurfing, that you know nothing about, in a location you have
never been... and present it, like it's reality!?
That's Fake News, Bro ;)
There are still enough topics outta your daily life, like music, food or present the same post like a desire/whish what you wanna do, and ask, don't tell....if you don't know what's up!
Peace out!

"present the same post like a desire/whish what you wanna do*

I like this, to give a different approach...
I'll buy this idea for you, so I avoid problems like giving false information. Which is never the intention on my part. If you look @luca1777, in the tribe I don't publish every day, not only because of time but because I read different sites to avoid this that you comment, trying to make the information coincide in different places, however, I see that it is not something reliable either because someone who has had the possibility to verify the reality personally can testify that it is not easy to access this sport, as you have seen.

At no time did I try with my comment to create discussion, the absolute, but in the end you gave me a choice, and that's the important thing, because I don't want to miss out on either the tribe or the steemit, for things like this. and I thank you for that.
