INTRODUCE YOURSELF

I remember a video that prompted me to write eight things that I find most remarkable about myself. It was quite tasking, I must say, coming up with those 'eight remarkable attributes'. The whole essence of the prompt was to reveal my worth, even the most trivial things.

So, here is another prompt. I have to #introducemyself and not bored my audience. Usually, I would ask what you want to know about me (@jonwrites). That question doesn't fix here. Now I ask, WHO AM I?

I am a Nigerian. Nigeria is a very popular country, for a lot of reasons - the good and the bad reasons. The country is very ethically diversified, of about 250 ethnic groups. The Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba being the three major ethnic groups. I'm from a mixed ethnic family. My Igbo dad married a Yoruba woman, therefore don't be surprised about the length of my name. My full name is UKOR Jonathan Ihunayachi Oluwayinka. Ihunayachi is an Igbo name which means 'the love of God' while Oluwayinka is Yoruba for 'God surrounds me'. Mine is quite the religious family, yes.

I'm a Christian. Christianity is one of the two major religions in Nigeria. The other is Islam. I love being religious. It was how I was cradled and how I grew to become the man I am today. I'm not an extremist though. I do not say resounding Amens to prayers raised against the other religion. There is beauty in diversity. One day, Nigerians will come to appreciate that.

I studied Linguistics and Nigerian Languages at the Federal University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State. I graduated in the year 2018. I'm an educator. Apart from my academic certificate, I've managed to acquire other professional certificates.

I have a deep love for writing. I love poetry writing mostly. Music, games, football and reading are among my other hobbies. I didn't mention I like eating. Yes, I do. A master chef will easily steal me away.

Thanks to @odeis, who introduced Steemit to me. My utmost desire to making impact in the world and giving the world is friendlier narrative of my country, Nigeria. Because truly we are friendly. I can boast anywhere that Nigerians are the most accommodating people in the world.

Basically, this is all about me. I look forward to meeting you.
