My Name is Joey. I am what you would call a "Cannabis enthusiast". I am so happy that my smart and talented wife (who is also drop dead gorgeous) let me know about steemit. I have been having fun reading posts and writing my own, and I just discovered the introduce yourself tag post, so here goes.

I am working on a project," CannaBOS THE HUBS HEMP HISTORY AND CONTEMPORARY CANNABIS CULTURE". My plans are to put out a weekly news/history show and tell the story of Cannabis' role in the formation of the "new" world. I will be covering news and events which are especially relevant but not limited to Boston. Here in Massachusetts we have had access to medical cannabis or legal recreational cannabis for about 10 years now.

A lifelong pothead, Bostonian, and area private chauffeur/ tour guide I am well versed in much of Boston's long history, but was completely unaware of how reliant the folks back in 1630 were on cannabis, and the cordage industry. I had always told people that the city streets were built on what had been previously cowpaths, which isn't necessarily untrue, but isn't all of the story. Equally if not more influential in the city's design were the cordage factories of the rope industry.

Turns out rope-makers were the largest group of laborers in those days, and the primitive rope factories "rope walks", were scattered throughout the Shawmut Peninsula, which is now known as Boston Proper. As Boston became a more civilized and cosmopolitan city by the mid 1800s, the giant rope walks absolutely influenced the shape of its development, for example the location of the first ropewalk, brought over from Salisbury England in 1645, is now called South Station.

This is the story I am looking to tell. It is the story of industrial hemp and of a disingenuous campaign conducted at the highest levels of government designed to deceive the american people into allowing the most important cash crop in history to be taken from us. It is the story of the powerful men of industry, who by deception and government collusion began a campaign to enslave the masses and destroy the earth for profit.

What i am looking at is the 400 year period between 1620 and 2020, as four 100 year sections highlighting the role of cannabis as relevant to each of those periods. There will also be a fifth section 2020-future and this is the section that is the most important to me. We are in the crosshairs of environmental disaster and despite what you've heard on TV CO2 isn't really the problem. I mean it's what plants eat. There is one plant in particular who would willingly eat all of the Carbon Dioxide and in return give us many special gifts. That plant is Cannabis.

The gifts we would receive are not limited to but include an end to reliance on petroleum products, an end to the plastic pollution problem, an end to chemical laden building materials causing public health issues, and end to malnutrition, and end to soil contamination, an end to vapid deforestation and so much more.

I am also a regular cannabis user and my belief is that all use is medicinal. I am hoping by putting out this project I will help to reduce the stigma around cannabis consumption. While significant ground is being covered in the research and development of appropriate cannabis therapy for treating a long list of ailments, there are a lot of folks who are still being put in cages in some of our so called "free" states, for the mere possession of a naturally occurring herb. There are families who have become medical refugees when seeking treatment for childhood medical conditions such as epilepsy, cancer, or the many debilitating side effects of chemotherapy. There are too many folks who believe that you can't enjoy Cannabis and have a relationship with Jesus, or that the plants use somehow constitutes immoral behavior.

My point of view is simple, If you don't agree with me you are wrong, and I believe that Cannabis is something we are meant to have and use and it has been stolen from us by greedy industrialists to get us hooked on Nylon, Gasoline Pharmaceuticals and Cotton.

Welcome to the Steemit community @joeyslliks!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.
Despite the fact that you are married to an experienced Steemian, it is still necessary sometimes to throw out a reminder about these vital issues.

Eight suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and steemconnect,
  3. The master password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit,
be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
  7. When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.
  8. Do NOT open any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @xcountytravelers and @brittandjosie from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Steemians available who can help you; you can click to go to the Steem Terminal in Discord here:
