CWC - My Cryptocurrency Investment Strategy

avatar
(Edited)

After a few battle hardened years in the cryptocurrency space I've learned some rather expensive lessons during my stay but I'm as committed as ever to losing money in this space because its fun.

Investing in cryptocurrency is anybodies guess since its still in its infancy and operates outside a lot of regulation so don't follow my advice and then get rekt and blame me, this isn't investment advice, this is only what I do with my money.

Do your own research and ruin your own financial future, all investments have risk yada yada, t&cs

Taking stake in the big 2

So how do I invest in cryptocurrency? Well for starters my largest holdings are in Bitcoin and Ethereum. I think even the big two are solid anchors that reflect the current market and provide a level of relative solidity to my portfolio.

I think these two currencies have built a firm reputation and will continue to hold large parts of total market share as they develop their code base and improve.

Passive Income

I am not content with just HODL'ing all my stake waiting for better price days so I've entrusted some of my cryptocurrency in services like Celsius and Crypto.com who pay between 2.5 - 4% APR on your holdings.

I will state however the major risk involved since these are custodial services so they own your coins and you do not have the keys to them.

I also use dLease for a 10% APR and Steem also provides you with an 1.89% APR on your steem power so its safe to say if you give me regular passive income you will get my attention.

Soft staking

As I've mentioned previously I love a good passive income source which is why I've also purchased Kucoins and NULS which can also be soft staked on the Kucoin exchange for a daily passive income.

dApps

I like to invest in applications I can use so I've also bought a stake in a few dapps on STEEM and on ETH which I think have potential to onboard users after me and generate a use case for their coin at scale in the future once they iron out all the bugs.

It's nice to be able to invest in a product you feel you can use every day so you more critical of what you invest in, instead of just an abstract value of an asset.

Yes, it all seems to be be hotting up at the moment which is a bit of fun. It's all been doom and gloom for too long!

Btc and eth don't look like they're going away anytime soon so probably solid choices.

Indeed it is, I think the halving hype is going to set off a bonanza again! Like you said it’s been so long and we slowly creeped to 10k which took ages the last time and no one bats and eye doubling the market cap is not impossible and with so few shit coin projects now from the previous ICO boom capital can flow into projects that have survived until now

Going to be interesting times for sure

Oh for sure the spending is fun but I’m happy to mess around on saving and staking side too! What are you into apart from STEEM? Any other alts you keen on?

You're a seasoned crypto guy :)
I'm nowhere as diversified as this, mainly because I can't be bothered to learn about some of these projects. haha. Laziness.

Ethereum has totally caught fire though!

Lol I think seasoned is such an appropriate term because I’ve been peppered in this space like you won’t believe form swings 20x being in early on XRP to being hacked and losing thousands!

I know Web 3.0 is going to be huge and this space is so small it can easily 100 - 300x if you in it for the long run!

Also me being in SA our inflation is pretty bad so holding more crypto makes sense for me just to protect so I do dollar cost average in and then decide on projects I like over time

Fairly solid plan. The big 2 will improve if any of them are going to. Earning on STEEM is easy and fun. Anything that can earn you passive returns should be a decent bet as long as they have an actual use case behind them. I would be running along the same terms as yourself but heavier into STEEM than holding the main 2.

I know this sounds extremely bullish but even though the tech isn’t where it needs to be I think smart people are taking note, money and expertise are going into it and as Web 2.0 and traditional finance have been maxed out and will correct capital will be reallocated over time and sticking around here is going to see you reap life changing values over time!

I’m not saying lambo next bull run, I’m saying 20-30 years when you retire you will do so without a care in the world

Really nice Post ! My biggest Holdings are also in btc and ETH. And i am doing the Same like you with celsius just with blockfi and yeah because of the Same reason you mentioned i do not have their a lot in my Wallet - in fact my coins there are aot really mine and there is always the possibilty to get hacked or something like this. And i will check out dlease.io in the next day because you recommend it maybe i will use it too :) till now i am not shure with staking, most of the time i use Kraken as exchange so i will check out maybe i will Invest something in tezos to stake but lets See lol..
Really loved this Post !

Looks like we have similar strategies probably why we can banter on about investing for so long and not get bored! I think you’ll make great gains over the next 20 to 30 years with that attitude and set yourself up so you only have to work because you love it Lol

If you have any questions about dlease or any of the projects I’ve invested in let me know in happy to chat to you about it
