Y'know... I'm not that fond of bloggin, or social networks in general. When I came here I didn't know what to expect. But I had a warm welcome which was kind of weird. Never had such a welcome on other sites. So it was cool, I got to know your arts, scrawly's, mr green's, thila's, ryo's manga, shiba's sexy watercolory brushwork, and very cool projects and blogs that made me want to leave a comment and follow their work. That was at the beginning. But this thing of the money, the quantization of "quality" of a post, curation "rewards"... somehow made me feel that some (some cuz there's genuine cool folk here) of the people interactions are... kind of... hypocrite? Being nice just for the growth of their stakes, their investment. I know I'm perhaps an idealist but dunno. I'm kind of disenchanted... but I'm almost always disenchanted in any social sphere XD... -_- I have some arts for posting, but I've been feeling like "why should I post stuff ?".
I wish I entered here before, when you were posting daily, to read your posts right straight from the oven... Warm and spongy. <3
Oh by the way, the last 2 pieces of your inktorture... mmh cough, I mean inktober are superb, you crowned Gerda and Kai with those lovely writings and poses... and VFX! I'd love a couple of t-shirts with them printed. Yes.
Heeey I totally understand what you feel, I’ve met many great peeps (and a ball of colours) too! At the start, it’s a really friendly place filled with all kinds of people, but most of my friends have gone back to the old social media sites. It’s quite something since those sites don’t offer any direct way of earning money, but somehow they rather post there. I guess it’s not all about money for them; some of them left Steemit without even cashing out their Steem.
Anyway I’m still around somewhat since some of my friends are still here and it’s nice to see what they’re up to :).
I miss your watercolories. I liked commenting nonsense in those cool artworks. They inspired me to express some words. I thought I'd see more of those chibi characters in watercolor, like Hayabusa Ryu and Arucarudo. Hopefully you'd share more arts here... soon

At first, too, I thought it was a great place that can foster genuine communities to thrive. Where people can just come together and lift each other up. Because we are all gifted with the same 'abilities'.
I didn't start as a big player or a whale. But I have time and I wanted to get to know others so I use my resources (time) to look at what other people are making / saying / drawing. To connect. But these days, I'm like you, Zeen. I'm starting to think, there's a lot of dishonesty and hypocrisy, and I'm disillusioned too.

Nice work with the 8 Inktober drawings that you did manage to do! I know it probably sucked to not get all 31 days but at least you’ve attempted. lol
And sad to hear you’re feeling faded from the platform. When I came in, I think you was here over a half a year already while I was trying to get my feet (or paws) wet but was less active at the time trying to balance posting on all my other sites. I think you was even helping me here in my initial days along with others like @scrawly and @trincowski to name a few. X3 Looking at the comments here, I can understand how you feel about your active ness here.
Like it’s true the rewards aspect can sometimes make it questionable on some genuineness of some folks. So I can see how it can be a little deflating a little. Though at least IMO, I can see the benefits of that outweighs the good. Like a benefit being able to support others especially our friends’ works and help them out. I can really see this platform being something great for many types of content creators from fellow artists to musicians, video makers, photographers, bloggers, etc. I even tried and got some of my friends to check out this place recently. X3 So I guess what motivates me here is not only the support of y’all here and meeting y’all, and of course no lie here reaching goals on rewards after putting in a lot of work to earn it, but even more so knowing and part of a platform and helping grow for many future creators to turn to and benefit greatly from for us support each other and laying the foundation and supporting Steem!
So yeah, I totally understand your feelings here. But hopefully you’ll still be around, and who knows, maybe you’ll rekindle your spirit here especially if you see my perspective as a motivator. :3

Awww, Sander <3 You're one of the few friends that I made on here that made the platform really wonderful for a long time !
It's just different now, and I'm not even talking about Steem prices as I've trucked through the periods in which Steem was in the 12 cents. But I noticed that a lot of people are very content to take and take and take and take and take.
I've supported so many people, with constant comments, upvotes, curations, etc. I've given away steems. I've ran contests. I build communities. But at the end of the day, I felt taken for granted. Again, I'm not talking about earnings. Just felt as if there's a huge void of genuine authors who are here to foster communities, connections, real talent, and the long term, actual success for the entire platform. The bulk of steem authors feel to me, lately, as if they are just here to get upvotes, and that's it. They are not interested in anything else.
As soon as I realised that I feel this way about others, I realised that it was time to step back. I dont particularly enjoy being jaded about others and so, I've reached the end of the road.
Maybe, it is temporary. I'll try to check back in every now and then, but yeah, I've fallen out of love with the platform.
I do hope that it will somehow prove me wrong and that it will be a thriving place in the future. To that end, I wish you and everyone else who still believe in it .... THE VERY BEST OF LUCK :D !
PS. Wishing you and your wonderful lady a safe and healthy twin babies delivery in the near future <3 <3 <3 And also for your arting career to take off to great heights! :D
