Best Bernie Ever
Wow. Have I got a treat for you today:-) A couple of days ago the daily morning newspaper of Des Moines, Iowa, decided to do a live-stream interview with presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, firing questions at him for a full hour. And boy, did that turn out to be a work of beauty...

I've seen all of the Democratic presidential primary debates, all of them bad and getting worse each time. We've had five of these wrecks until now, each lasting two hours or more, and none of them informative, engaging, confronting or even entertaining whatsoever. In these televised popularity contests the mainstream media's bias toward support for neoliberal propaganda has become more apparent than ever before, with consistently more talking time allotted to the centrist candidates, the ones who promise that nothing significant will change during their time in office, and more left leaning candidates being kept silent or given trick-questions. Really, when Andrew Yang was asked during the latest debate what he would say in his first call as U.S. president to Russian president Vladimir Putin, after being ignored during the first 32 minutes of the debate, I really wanted to stop watching this farcical spectacle altogether.
Bernie Sanders was also mistreated in the same way during these debates, and in the rest of the media coverage of the 2020 primary presidential campaign. Nevertheless, I still believe he could have been a tad more aggressive; this is one of very few criticisms I have, that he keeps treating his mortal political adversaries with velvet gloves, he's too kind. Joe Biden is almost his polar opposite in these debates, yet Bernie always starts with "my good friend Joe Biden, whom I've collaborated with in the past successfully" or something like that. He refuses to paint a sharp difference between himself and Elizabeth Warren, when in fact their policies and their effects differ like night and day. He should go after them like he goes after the top 1%...
In the end though, Bernie is the best candidate for the U.S. presidency in my lifetime, by a country mile. You've been able to read about some of the reasons why in my recent posts, but even if you Have, I urge you to watch this one hour interview that was streamed life on December 6 by the Des Moines Register. And if you're not yet feeling the Bern, or even if you consider yourself his ideological nemesis, I doubly encourage you to hear what he has to say, and how he says it. I've never seen him so passionate and talkative before, not even during his many, many rallies; here's a man who knows what has to be done to finally bring the change promised by his predecessors Obama and Trump. No matter if you're for or against his ideas and proposals, you just know there's nothing fake about him, that he means every word he says, and that he'll fight for these ideas until he drops. After watching this interview, I believe you'll truly understand why he's silenced as much as possible in the public's eye, why there's this gargantuan campaign being waged against his candidacy by all the powers that be. Money isn't free. We tax wealth. We spend less on wars. Or, in your words, we steal it from the insanely rich.
Depends on your definition of money. It seems you don't believe in ownership. I believe in ownership. So, in your world, there is no such thing as theft if nobody owns anything or if nobody can. Poor people pay taxes in many cases. You seem to be denying reality where many poor people suffer when taxes go up. It seems you do not know history. You are probably too blind to care as you only see what you want to see.
