Mainstream media bias has never been so obvious. In yesterday's post I briefly mentioned how well Bernie Sanders is doing in the polls, especially among younger voters, today I'll briefly discuss how much of an achievement that is because of mainstream media's attempts to ignore him.

After the November Democratic television debate, hosted by MSNBC and The Washington Post, my admiration for candidate Andrew Yang went up a notch: his team, popularly called "the Yang-gang", made the hashtag #boycotMSNBC go viral for a day or two on Twitter. You see, these debates are meant to be a service to the public; they should present the candidates to the viewers in order for them to be able to make a choice. Normally this means that the front-runners are given the most time to speak, and the other proportional to their standing in the polls. There are two candidates however who didn't get their proportional time in the spotlight, in ANY of the debates up until now: Andrew Yang and Bernie Sanders. Instead, the candidates who represent the so called center, the ones who think and say that everything was peachy before Trump, and that everything will be peachy again after defeating Trump, the ones who will not upset the status quo in any way, like Joe Biden, Amy Kobuchar and Pete Buttigieg, are given the most time. Not only that; they're handed the easiest questions too.

Was asked to appear on @msnbc this weekend - and told them that I’d be happy to after they apologize on-air, discuss and include our campaign consistent with our polling, and allow surrogates from our campaign as they do other candidates’. They think we need them. We don’t.

They’ve omitted me from their graphics 12+ times, called me John Yang on air, and given me a fraction of the speaking time over 2 debates despite my polling higher than other candidates on stage. At some point you have to call it.

Especially Andrew Yang got screwed in a bad way in these debates, and this last one was one too much for him and his team. He made a public statement that he won't appear on MSNBC anymore until the network issues a public apology for the way he has been treated. Like I said yesterday, Yang and Sanders attract a lot of young voters, many of whom have never voted before, and these youngsters don't watch television but instead use social media as their conduit to the wider world. Yang went so far as to say that these old fashioned news networks THINK he needs them, but he doesn't. MSNBC just made things even worse by publicly stating that they issued a private apology to Yang in a private phone-call, which was immediately, and publicly denied by Yang. MSNBC and also the Washington Post are supposedly the "progressives" among the media-dinosaurs, but this election cycle clearly shows what they really are: defenders of the status quo, corporate hacks who aren't allowed to give a voice to those who threaten n top of the plutocracy.

Aside from the debates though, the way Bernie Sanders has been treated is plain criminal: as long as there's not something negative to say about the man, he's simply ignored by the mainstream media. I remember that after Bernie's comeback from his heart attack, he surged in almost all polls. A couple of them even showed that Bernie was the ONLY candidate able to defeat Trump in key states, and that he overtook Warren for second place, almost equal to Joe Biden... But Bernie made none of the headlines. Instead, media-favorite Pete Buttigieg got all the press. Even negative press is preferable over no press at all. So, if you're reading this and if you're as convinced as I am that something NEEDS to change for the better, and if you see in Yang or Sanders the way to realize that change, and if you live in America, please share this news, share the videos with friends, family, colleagues who get their news from TV, and show them how misinformed they are...
