Some thoughts on preparing for an unspecified emergency, with a bug out (or in) Bag.

Placing clothes packed like this is perfect for a bug out bag to take care of emergency situations. Things like this just make so much sense, it is obvious gain! A bug out bag is a generic term for a single location emergency supply stash.

I love learning new things, and I hadn't seen this method!

The only thing I would do is to place this clothes roll into a plastic zip lock bag, to keep these clothes dry! The bag is useful in it's own right, and can double to carry water, or to protect fire starter supplies; in a SHTF scenario. I would also put some toilet paper in on the skivvies before I roll them, as distributed back up.

This is a little more practical for prepping, because it allows clothing customization to match changing conditions. Although I would still pack them into a plastic zip lock bag to improve the bug out bag usefulness. A lot of small items can be placed in the gaps where the rolls come together, since they are in a waterproof bag, this would be a good location for first aid supplies or ammunition.

I can also see rolling an inflatable pillow in a space (mylar) blanket to add to this same zip lock in the bug out bag. A clear rain coat is a good add too, because it can double as a water collector membrane in a solar still, and this works anywhere.

Emergency supplies are easily gathered now, and hopefully never needed, but could be very important if bad things did happen! A well stocked bug out bag is good to have just for peace of mind, and is worth the effort even if never used!
