Well, I got bit by a little spider....

(Edited)

I got a spider bite low on my left shoulder by the armpit on Thursday night while I slept. It has caused me some problems, so I had to go to the doctor today. I put a comfrey tincture fomentation on it and it didn't help, so I know it wasn't a brown recluse.

So what do you think?

The bad part is that I don't know what I did to piss this spider off, LOL!

20200811_135215.jpg

But I controlled the lymph infection with colloidal silver, and have used the comfrey tincture peripherally to reduce the swelling.

I had to limit the use on the main part of the bites (There were two) because the first night the comfrey tincture closed the surface. I had to re-open it to drain it, in the morning. So, back to the first aid kit, I must raid my prepping supplies; because in medicine, the SHTF scenario has already happened.

I went to the doctor today, only to be met by insanity. Here they make you sit in your car, until the doctor is ready. So, feeling badly enough to actually go to a doctor ( FIRST Time in a Decade); I was 'allowed' to sit in 97 °F, for almost an hour! I felt 100% worse, after that cooking....

I asked them to lance this and drain it. Apparently they don't do this in the office anymore, because it is considered a 'surgical procedure'; so my trip was wasted. I may have to cut it myself, if my new poltice (slippery elm, cleaver, and Aloe vera) doesn't pull out the infection.

I got what I could, including an antibiotic shot; that I had to ask for three times. I asked for a Tetanus shot, and crashed and burned on government regulations. Because politicians are so very smart, they can no longer dispense tetanus shots in a doctor's office! Instead of taking the shot in a doctor's office, where if an unlikely reaction occurs, there is a doctor present; I have to go to the pharmacy!

Seriously, it Is a prescription, so instead of a trained professional dispensing the injection; it can be given by a kid with a single days training!

My daughter is a pharmacist and manages a pharmacy, and she does 100% of injections in her pharmacy personally! Most don't bother....

Welcome to government controlled healthcare! You always get the government you are willing to accept; apparently now that is true for healthcare too, SMH!

NOT much help from normal 'Medicine'; but I have been planning for that for a decade, so this is a dry run for SHTF. Tapping some of my prepping supplies, should get interesting...

Sore right now, but the poltice is drawing some of the swelling; so I should be fine!

Sad to see how useless medicine has become.

I assume you don't know what sort of spider but hopefully it clears up quickly.

One of my mates got bitten on his shin by something that started eating his flesh, necrotic arachnidism I believe it's called. It took a long time to heal and he still struggles with it over a year later.Hopefully you get it all squared away. Good luck with the idiots government.

Sorry about your mate! The necrotic tissue is usually formed by destruction of Hyaluronic Acid by spider venom. Comfrey Tincture applies Allentoin which draws normal body produced hyaluronic acid and replaces it faster than the venom can destroy it.

I used some the first night, and when it didn't help, I knew the venom was not based on destroying Hyaluronic acid, so it was Not a brown Recluse (or a rattle snake, LOL). If he is on here, have him contact me and I will try to help him.

We will see what happens when November rolls through!

Lol, rattlesnake? If you have one of those in your bedroom you have real problems.

My mate seems to be going well so far. it's just taking a long time.

Just listed that because the Comfrey is supposed to work just as well on rattlesnakes. My Niece found a copperhead out by keystone lake, but no rattlesnakes locally.

I cleaned out a snake pit of rattlesnakes in Texas with an M14 in .308. Dumped 20 rounds, and the rock face collapsed into the pit. My buddy was able to cross then....

Ashweganda, naturally extracted vitamins, and moringa with short term echinacea will speed his healing. I wish him luck.

Clearing snakes in that manner seems legit to me. A pity there was no video. :)

He jumped over it before they were ready, jumping back would have got him bit several times.

I just took the M14 for fun, good thing, my pocket pistol wouldn't be enough. He was real glad I hauled it along. Those full jacketed tips just tore that snake pit apart, and he got back safe!

I've seen some footage of those rattle snake pits...Looks pretty scary to me. I'm not a snake lover. We don't have rattlers here fortunately, just plenty of other ones...That I also don't like.

Rattlesnakes are the 'gentlemen' of the snake world; since they 'warn' you they feel threatened, so you can get clear.

They are a pretty snake too, but needs to be watched, for certain!

It seems our bastard snakes are not gentlemen then. No real warning...Unless you call a bit a warning? Lol

That is the way most are, which is why the rattle snake is a Gentleman in the snake kingdom.

Our most dangerous (rare fortunately) is a coral snake. Their venom is like a cobra's but their fangs and mouth are small, which helps. The most common here are the water moccasins, they are black, and hard to spot. I have seen them at 5 foot myself. But those are the only venomuos snake we have here.

Try oregano oil. If that's not a Brown Recluse I don't know what it is. A Black Widow would of sent you to the hospital. Unless Oklahoma has Hobo Spiders.

I'm not sure either. The Comfrey tincture destroys Brown Spider bites overnight. I have helped people half a dozen times with the same results.

I will try the oregano oil, thank.

I used catch Black Widow spiders for the OSU entomology department to milk for anti-venom. I can spot them pretty well, but you're right; it is not a Black Widow bite either.

I will try to drain it with a poltice.
