Fall Is Coming

Another month has passed. I'm a bit bummed out. Our amazing summer weather is completely gone, and what we're experiencing now feels like fall. I really would have enjoyed 2 or 3 more weeks of hot temperatures and sunshine.

But I guess it is what it is.

It's obvious the gardening season is coming to its end, and just like every year, that makes me a bit sad.

The spider mites infestation in the greenhouse has really thinned things out there. Fortunately, my tomato plants are still doing good. I really need to come up with more creative ideas to use ripe tomatoes, because the plants are producing more than we can eat.

Anyway... It's that time of the month again...

Welcome to the Hive Community Garden Journal Challenge, which encourages you to share your monthly (indoor) garden/balcony updates with your the community and create your own garden journal.

Already did it - where are you? lol
I actually decided to break it into two parts due to how long it ended up being (23 pictures in all.) Not counting the mid-August one... so the final part will be posted today.

I freeze my excess ripe tomatoes so I have a constant supply of tomatoes for cooking in winter. I drop them in the freezer as-is.
I'm in the mood for spring and my entry is here: https://hive.blog/hive-183841/@nikv/some-peanuts-and-getting-the-garden-ready-for-spring

I love this challenge because it allows us to make a chronology of what happens in the green spaces of our home. Here is my contribution for the month of August 2020:

Doing two more parts... I didn't want to post 22 pictures in one post! Here's the first - technically part 2...

Hello!
Here's my entry for the month of August.
https://peakd.com/gardenjournal/@amberyooper/garden-journal-end-of-august-garden-report

I know what you mean about the fall like weather, we're getting that here also.
As for the tomatoes, you could make sauce, or salsa with them.

Might have to bow out this month for the first time in a long while! We've been pulling down the last of our summer stuff and prepping to try to get some items going for the fall, so pretty barren over here besides a few squash plants and the turmeric that is sprouting up waiting to be harvested in another month or so. Nothing too exciting, but perhaps we'll get some good stuff going for next month. I'll happily see what everyone else has going on, though. :)

yeah, there isn't too much going on here at the moment either. Tomato plants, and a couple of squash plants and that's it.

I was busy all week. Now I'm afraid I'm too late.
