A New Model Kit Review, the Roden 1/72 scale German WW1 Gotha G IV bomber

Hello, and welcome to my steem blog!

This is the first video that I've put up on youtube in a while, and the first model kit review that I've done in months. I've had the raw video for this and a few other kit review videos on my computer for a while, but I was having problems with my video editing software, so I wasn't able to finish the video until a couple of days ago. I finally got it uploaded to my youtube page, so now I can link it here.

This is a review of a 1/72 scale plastic kit of the German World War 1 Gotha G-IV 2 engine bomber biplane. This kit was made by Roden, a model company based in Ukraine. The Gotha bomber is one of the more well known WW1 bombers.

This kit airplane has a wingspan of about 13 inches, or about 33cm, and the length of the body is about 6-3/4 inches, or about 17cm. This particular kit that I did the review on belongs to a friend of mine. They've been working on the kit a bit at a time for a while now, and it's almost finished, but not quite. This is what it looks like so far. The camouflage pattern on the wings was produced with decals that come with the kit.

One unusual thing about this kit is that there are no locator pins on the body halves or wing halves, so putting those parts together is a bit trickier than for most kits. Also, the struts that go between the upper and lower wings don't have locator pins, which means that getting the struts properly placed is also a bit tricky. I would have to say that this is not a kit for beginners. An experienced modeller should not have too much problem with putting this together. The kit does not come with any figures. The pilot figure in this model was scrounged from the spare parts collection to put into this kit.

That's about all I have for this post. Thanks for stopping by my page to check it out.
