Follow Friday - Late Edition

avatar

I have been out all day, so this week's #FollowFriday is running late. It has been 'interesting' watching the crypto prices this week. I mostly care about $Hive, but I keep hoping to see it get well clear of $Steem. The latter was ahead for a while, but they have swapped back. I really wonder is speculators take any account of actual utility. The Hive platform has lots of good creators and is under active development, unlike 'the other place'.

Their respective sites are diverging in usage with Hive.io pulling ahead.

Peakd is not far behind and I think Hive has more general activity across the various dapps, including the games.

Here are my weekly tips of people to check out:

  • @sidekickmatt puts out a couple of comic strips each week plus other artworks he has come up with. He does some great versions of classic characters as well as some original ones.
  • @normie.fitness is on a mission to dispel various fitness and weight loss myths. There are plenty of people after your money with dodgy products, so check it out.
  • @thetroublenotes are a band who have managed to do some performances recently. The world needs great music to keep our spirits up.
  • @the-bitcoin-dood is the one responsible for getting me onto Steem originally. He is obviously a crypto fam. but his posts also include games, music and his travels by motorbike.
  • I encountered @johneyreacko and @pommom via the Rising Star game. They have lots to offer the community.

I do what I can to drive engagement on Hive. We need active people commenting as well as voting to make it work as a social platform. That makes it more fun for everyone. Feel free to make your own suggestions of cool people in the comments here or your own posts.

Hive five!

never too late @steevc, always look forward to your #FollowFriday!

hey @jfmusic31, this is the amazing Steeve Clark, fellow musician, believer and promoter of #HIVE. Aside from onboarding newcomers, he is incredibly active with community.

You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

Same price... HIVE went down a lot, I didn't expect it.

That's how the markets go. There is not necessarily any logic to it. We just have to keep adding value to Hive

Thank you for this suggestions. You have been great so far.

I feel hive will definitely be ahead of steem in the long run. Success never comes by chance. Hive has a lot to offer and I am sure we will win. In fact the fight is not between hive and steem.. it is between hive and the world .. I believe we will get there ..

We will have to fight for the success of Hive. If you see people using Steem then make sure they know the risks. The best thing we can do is to get more people using Hive so that it has more value.

I wrote a Tweet the other day as a joke about the price of Steem and Hive flipping. You would have thought I insulted the pope or something. People were freaking out. It was just a joke :P I hope Hive can rise clear of Steem soon.

I find it interesting to see what the market does, but it does not seem related to actual utility of the platforms. It's more about quick profits from speculation. Hive needs investors who want to play the long game and creators who will take a chance on it.
