Moving to Hive Blockchain

(Edited)

I guess we are witnessing a very revolutionary moment in the history of Steem. New beginnings, I guess it's a time for renewal and new beginnings for a better future of us Steemians, which will now be Hive. Friday will be a remarkable day for us Steemians where we witness these changes and when the community starts thriving we will feel proud of ourselves to be a part of this change. It's time for us to welcome this change with open arms. Though I know a lot of us are very emotionally attached to Steem. It's been 2.5 years for me continuously on Steem every single day and now calling it Hive will require a lot of mental shift.

Also at this point of time, I do have a lot of questions in my mind and not sure as to where this radical shift will lead to. Besides taking care of the very value of decentralization there are a lot of other aspects also to look at.
I am wondering

  • What will happen to the Steem price
  • What will be the value of Hive
  • The voting system how will it get impacted
  • The returns on post, upto what extent will be impacted.
  • Will all Steemians willingly accept this change
  • I understand that equal amount of Hive tokens will be given out in the shift, so is it going to then dissolve the Steem tokens that we have?
  • Is it that I can simultaneously post on both Steem and Hive or I need to give up on one and only select one.
  • Can I convert my Steem tokens to Hive?

All these are some questions that I guess the answers will come through in the next couple of days.

I am sure it's not going to be all very smooth and we will have to overcome the hurdles, but if we are able to bring in the same value into Hive as we had in Steem then all is well that ends well.
I am going to continue with my post, let's see how the future of Hive shapes up and eventually what happens to Steem.
If I have to only keep one of it then I will go with the Hive, because personally I believe that sometimes the change is always for a better future and also that I would like to be with my communities and be with my own people who till now has been on Steemit.

I am going to cherish these memories, but for sure I am not going to cling to it.

This probably is my last post on Steemit. I am feeling very emotional understanding that I will not be using Steemit anymore, but as said with disasters always comes great opportunities which we must embrace.

Good bye Steemit and Welcome Hive,
And let the Steem spirit always be alive

It will be a tale of two cities, some will use one, some will use both and they will co-exist and we will see who captures more of the current audiences as well as giving the ability to bring in new users and may the best chain win. More options and more freedom is never a bad thing

I guess most of the people will be doing a cross posting. And by the way there won't be an automatic mechanism to convert Steem to Hive. When the exchanges are ready, we have to just dump Steem and purchase Hive.

Wrong. You will be give exactly the same stake in HIVE via airdrop as you have in steem. No need to purchase Hive at all. You get the extra bonus of trying to cash out your steem, but be warned the price with collapse when we all do it at once.

When we move completely to Hive, what are we going to do with Steem that is going to die gradually? That's why I said we can just dump Steem and buy hive for that. Well this is my opinion. I don't foresee any value for Steem as after centralization it will gradually become whaleshares and die. Better to dump early.

sorry... that wasn't clear at all. but yes, dump asap after the snapshot and pray Justin's ego finds a way to prop the steem price up somehow for a while...

Start posting on steempeak or busy NOW. :) No more support. Nothing to be nostalgic about, since all the original thinking and people from steem are moving too. Just a big rebrand ahead. The price will no doubt take a hit, but we've been there before. After that, it's up to us to grow HIVE and create a healthy, living community there.

I do not have any idea what will happen @nainaztengra but our steem tokens will remain it will not dissolve. There is no market yet for HIVE tokens until exchanges list it in their platform.
In my opinion both chains will exist and nothing will fade away or die.

I guess we need to be a little patient over this whole transition and guess with time it will be all sorted out and we will also settle down with what's best for us.
