In less than 1 month Steemit.com is already out of the top 10, while Peakd and Hive.blog are going strong! - The State Of The Dapps.

It's been a while since the last time I visited the State Of The Dapps. It's a great tool to track which app is doing well or not, their overall activity, and their current ranking etc...just in case you are not familiar with this site...

As a matter of fact the last time I've checked was about a month or so prior to HF 23.0.

Note that some of the Dapps have already migrated on Hive, while some others are about to the following days.

So it would be interesting to see how things look like now compared to a couple of months back for some of the "big names"...and, surprise surprise...

I guess you all remember Steemit.com being the No1 app most of the time. One could say that it was the battle ram of the entire Steem Network. But things DO change rapidly and Steemit, that once was ranked first among 3500+ Dapps is now sitting at the 11th spot.

Do you see that dive on Steemit's chart? That's the chain split.

Also...do you see that @peakd is currently No3? There was no Peakd 1 month ago...

Never underestimate what a dedicated group of people / community is capable of, ever.

That being said, I read a great analysis by @dalz earlier. In this post he explains anything you need to know regarding the overall activity on Steem - Hive.

What I've found really interesting is the fact that while the overall activity both on Steem and Hive looks kinda balanced, there's one category where Steem outperforms Hive. That's custom JSON operations. The difference is huge there, 380K on Steem / 11K on Hive and there's a reason for that. Actually...3 reasons...

Spliterlands, Steem-Engine and Nextcolony

Splinterlands is definitely the most successful application out there, hands down. And it is still running on Steem. I don't know if they consider moving on Hive but it is definitely the main reason behind this huge gap.

I have made a breakdown on custom json operations and had a look who is making them and 90% of them were made by Splinterlands, Nextcolony and Steem-Engine. Splinterlands was dominating with around 60% of all the custom JSONs operations.

And this is the list of the most successful Hive apps.

As a side note...Hive is only 1 month old. So having 2 apps already (peakd - hive.blog) in the top ten, while 2 more about to break through, is already a huge success.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the shout out!

It is truly amazing that peakd and hive.blog have outperformed steemit.

Also the things that are driving trafic on steem now are actualy community dapps, not steemit inc. This just shows that community is far better than steemit inc.

Seems like Justin hasn't realized it yet...

That is pretty slick and once again it is proved that, the name does not matter but the value of the product matters at all times.

I think within 3 months, peakd will move to the top and other dapps on hive will get into the top 5, it's a huge progress for just one month now and I think that the best is yet to come

It's huge indeed.I was expecting some progress week after week but these are huge jumps...not just steps.

It is new and that will change.

Hive-Engine is now open and some tokens are already moved over. That will start to alter the balance.

EXODE is going to be going live within the next month and that is going to provide some JSON transactions for Hive since that is being set up here and not on Steem.

The overall trend is fairly obvious. Most of the activity, due to the shift of the community, is on Hive.

I think Steem was dropped from Blocktivity.

Steem isn't even displayed among the top 37...while Hive is currently 15th,

Just a matter of time before Hive sneaks in the top 10

Splinterlands is definitely considering moving to Hive, but there are a lot of little details that still need to be worked out before we can commit to that in order to ensure that it would be as seamless of a transition as possible for our players.

Fair enough. And also great news. I am pretty sure that most of the users will be excited.

Is there a timeline or something?

It would be awesome to see Splinterlands on the Hive blockchain, but... I would say that JS keeps them by the balls as they have a lot of STEEM on their accounts, and if they decide to move, I suppose that he would freeze their coins as he has done with other big accounts...

Maybe that wasn't said "in loud", but I would say that some other dApps have similar thoughts... ;)

This is just my 2c...

I don't know if that's the reason why they haven't migrated yet but Yaba's comment was promising.

Time is the essence even though I wish for a quick reversal.
#steem if maintain course will fade slowly unless the Sun finds a way to bright.
#hive on the other hand is community driven.
#hive will grow, has to grow.

Hoping to see hive continue to grow. This is a cool platform. The more I use it, the more I like it

Are these rankings based on the number of transactions?

what a wonderful news even if we the world is crisis right now. We all know that peakD will be on top because many people are using it. Justin didn't understand the feelings of the people. He thought that he can manipulate the people who just wanted a decentralization blockchain. Maybe just months counting and steemit will be gone.

I am very excited about the future of a decentralized and censorship resistant HIVE, as well as deploying my own website here as well. We have learned a lot of lessons on Steem but I think this is a chance for the serious community to take it to the next level. #teamhive

It's funny because there are a number of DEFI applications and actually better ones than Steemit... UNstoppable domain, Kyber network and uniswap are having real uses and more value...and Steemit jumps a place replaces Uniswap, now it's in 10th place.

Undiscovered value...under rated... I really looking to understand about these DEFI applications, social applications I think though impt cannot be more valuable than decentralised Finance.

But yup on social sphere, HIVE definitely will thrive...I don't have than insecurity like I had on Steem. Anyway
