When I built my first website, I followed a program put together by one of the best in the online industry. It taught me all this stuff about marketing, but I was still a horrible blogger.
What really helped me improve was picking up writing jobs on Upwork. Working for someone else really raised the bar on the work I was expected to perform. I had to learn and in part, I did exactly what you suggest.
By visiting and reading many different blogs, I became familiar with what successful bloggers were doing. I knew I needed to replicate that, and it took hard work. It still does. It pays off if you keep at it. 👍

Yes, the shadowing thing is just a part of the learning process. It is useless if the person does not acquire any knowledge or put into action whatever useful information he/she gained from observing others. And keeping that momentum is also important. There will be some lows but it should not discourage us to keep going.
