Es mi primera vez por aquí y vaya que tengo bastante que aportar. Vivo en Ecuador, en la zona costa, donde el año escolar inicia en Marzo-Abril y termina en Enero-Febrero.
Como todos saben el covid-19, hizo que muchas cosas cambiaran en el mundo, entre ellas que ahora las clases sean en casa vía On-line. Tuvimos 1 año escolar completo con esta modalidad y el que va del 2021 de la misma manera.
Al principio me dije que era mejor, pues así podía observar amis hijas (el bebé aún no estudia), hasta que las maestras comenzaron a enviar miles de tareas diarias jajaja.

This is my first time here and I have a lot to contribute. I live in Ecuador, on the coast, where the school year starts in March-April and ends in January-February.
As you all know the covid-19, made many things change in the world, among them that now the classes are in home, On-line. We had 1 complete school year with this modality and the year 2021 in the same way.
At the beginning I thought it was better, because I could observe my daughters (the girl still doesn't study), until the teachers started to send thousands of homework every day hahaha.

La educación desde casa tiene sus ventajas, al menos para mí:
▪︎Pasas más tiempo con tus hijos (si eres como yo, que no trabaja en una oficina o depende de uno).
▪︎Te involucras más en sus actividades y puedes ser quien los ayudes a desarrollar su aprendizaje.
▪︎Ellos pueden trabajar y aprender desde la comunidad de su hogar.
▪︎Otros miembros de la familia también pueden involucrarse en la educación académica de los niños.
▪︎Que mamá o quien ayuda al niño en casa sepa dibujar y de manualidades (es mi caso).
Homeschooling has its advantages, at least for me:
▪︎You spend more time with your children (if you are like me, who doesn't work in an office or depend on one).
▪︎You get more involved in their activities and can be the one to help them develop their learning.
▪︎They can work and learn from their home community.
▪︎Other family members can also get involved in children's academic education.
▪︎Mother or helper at home should be able to draw and do arts and crafts (in my case).

Así como hay ventajas, también existen las desventajas:
▪︎No contar con internet o un equipo para conectarse a las clases On-line. Aunque parezca increíble esto sucede y mucho.
▪︎Que ambos padres trabajen y el niño quede solo o con alguien que no sepa guiarle en lo que debe hacer y aprender.
▪︎Que no cuenten con una impresora y además no sepan dibujar o tengan creatividad para enseñar y ayudar al niño.
▪︎Que se pierde en ocasiones la paciencia.
▪︎Se pierden la interacción con otros niños.
As there are advantages, there are also disadvantages:
▪︎Not having internet or a computer to connect to the On-line classes. Incredible as it may seem, this happens a lot.
▪︎That both parents work and the child is left alone or with someone who does not know how to guide him/her in what to do and learn.
▪︎When they do not have a printer and also do not know how to draw or have the creativity to teach and help the child.
▪︎That patience is sometimes lost.
▪︎There is a loss of interaction with other children.
I want to highlight a few points, for me it is a great advantage to know how to draw and do handicrafts, I am one of those mums who are creative and have creative ideas. For a whole academic year I had to write and draw all the homework that was sent to me, when many others had the possibility to print it out and just give it to the child to do.
This year, a week ago and thanks to Hive, I bought an Hp printer, it cost us 50 dollars on sale. We don't have a computer, but we can print from our mobile.
Quiero hacer énfasis en algunos puntos, para mí es una gran ventaja saber dibujar y hacer manualidades, soy de esas mamás que resuelven y tienen ideas creativas. Durante todo un año académico me toco escribir y dibujar cada tarea que enviaban a hacer, cuando muchos otros tenían la posibilidad de imprimir y solo darle la tarea al niño para que la realizará.
Este año, hace una semana y gracias a Hive, compré una impresora Hp, nos costó 50$ en oferta. No tenemos computadora, pero podemos enviar a imprimir desde el teléfono móvil.

This advantage makes me grateful and at the same time makes me think of those who have less, those who do not have that creativity or ingenuity, who do not know how to draw perhaps to help their little ones and it is that desperation that leads many or sometimes leads us all to lose patience.
Esta ventaja me hace ser agradecida y al mismo tiempo me lleva a pensar en quienes tienen menos, en aquellos que no tienen esas creatividad o ingenio, que no saben dibujar tal vez para ayudar a sus pequeños y es esa desesperación que lleva a muchos o nos lleva algunas veces a todos, a perder la paciencia.
Not having the financial resources and materials that are sometimes requested and needed is also something that can cause stress and frustration for any parent. My words of encouragement to those who receive online classes and to those who support their children.
El no contar con los recursos económicos y los materiales que en ocasiones piden y son necesarios, también es algo que puede causar estres y frustración en cualquier padre. Mis palabras de ánimo a quienes reciben clases online y a quienes son apoyo para sus hijos.

Mi querida Eli, qué buena publicación. Todo lo que planteas es cierto, muchos padres no pueden asumir esa responsabilidad o no tienen la paciencia necesaria, por eso pienso que debe volver la normalidad a los sistemas educativos porque los niños necesitan esa interacción escolar. Me alegra mucho que hayan podido comprar la impresora, es una herramienta fundamental para hacer las actividades, sé que le sacarán mucho provecho. Ya te veré súper mamá conectada a la impresora desde el celular jajaja. Muchas bendiciones para ti, paciencia y amor te sobran para la tarea de ser mamá de tres. Un abrazote.
Está semana fue un alivio imprimir. Y bueno, si quiero que vuelvan a las aulas, pero cuando acbe del virus, del resto es un riesgo.
Hola, excelente post sobre todo porque recoges una serie de hechos que afectan a muchos niños y padres, a tu lista le agregaría la dificultad de los padres para enseñar de una manera más didáctica para el niño, porque podemos tener conocimientos pero a veces no conocemos la mejor manera para enseñar al niño y adaptarlo a su nivel de aprendizaje. En cuanto a educación es un momento difícil y preocupante para todos para todos.

Me parece que los niños necesitan ese entorno en el que se relacionan con otros niños y son independientes en un salón de clases, de hecho puede ser difícil para muchos niños adaptarse cuando regresan a las aulas, esta situación ha sido un fuerte choque para ellos.
Asi es, no será nada fácil pero tampoco imposible.

Yes, the exercise is great. Here we had 30 days of blockade again (curfew) but last weekend it ended and we took to an open field, it's a natural park.
Excellent post I am pleased to see that there are more and more parents committed to homeschooling and the development of their children in a comprehensive manner, it is certainly not easy but not impossible this beautiful experience where your child and you share the wonderful world of learning is certainly one of the best things that can happen in life.
That's right, it may not be easy for many but it is not impossible. With patience and love we can achieve it, remembering that we were also children.
Homeschooling has changed a lot since it began in general with the pandemic, it should be noted that it is not a new practice but is now widespread. Homeschooling gives parents the opportunity to grow with their children from the cognitive to the emotional, today parents are more aware of the role they have as educators and trainers of children.
It has certainly changed and even when they return to the classroom it will not be at all the same. The younger ones will have to adapt again and the older ones will have to catch up in some cases.
Hola @elizabeths14, muy de acuerdo con muchas de las cosas narradas, educar en casa, ha sido sin duda algo que nos afectó a todos, positiva y/o negativamente. Para mi, positivamente porque he tenido el tiempo de compartir y verlo crecer sin presiones en el reloj, y eso lo atesoro con el alma y negativamente, porque éste distanciamiento social ha limitado el desarrollo social con niños de su edad y eso ha afectado significativamente los procesos de aprendizaje por imitación y formas sociales de adaptación…
Pero pese a esto, y pese a lo duro que ha resultado el proceso de aprender técnicas pedagógicas, creo hemos hecho un gran trabajo, hemos fortalecido lazos de empatia y solidaridad con nosotros mismos y con otros padres en igual condición.
Felicidades por la compra de tu impresora, es sin duda un gran logro.
