My Auntie's Mini Farm / La Mini Granja de mi Tía
Hello friends of the HIVEPETS community. This time I am excited to show you not a pet, but a very special place that I take Sebastian to, 1 or 2 times every week.
"My Auntie's Mini Farm."
I will give you a photographic tour of all the animals that she has and that Sebas and I have grown very fond of.
Hola amigos y amigas de la comunidad de HIVEPETS. En esta oportunidad me emociona mostrarles no una mascota, sino un lugar muy especial al cual yo llevo a Sebastián, 1 ó 2 veces cada semana.
"La Mini Granja de mi Tía."
Les daré un paseo fotográfico por todos los animales que ella tiene y a los cuales Sebas y yo les hemos tomado mucho cariño.
In the first picture, we see a feathered family. The mother is a "Gallina Piroca" (Naked Neck Hens) and is a breed of hens that are characterized by not having feathers on their necks.
It was the most special moment among all the pictures I took.
The mother was protecting her whole family of chicks, under her wings. Look at the number of little legs under her, it was beautiful.
She wasn't afraid of us, as we got pretty close. I think she was afraid of some hawks in the trees. They had already stolen one of her chicks.
It was a tragic event for the family, the mother cackled a lot and everyone in the house ran to see what was happening, some children saw how a sparrow hawk had kidnapped the chick, but there was nothing to do.
Since then the hen has become more nervous and protective of her babies. How can you blame her?
En la primera fotografía, vemos a una familia emplumada. La mamá es una "Gallina Piroca" y es una raza de gallinas que se caracterizan por no tener plumas en el cuello.
Fue el momento más especial entre todas las fotografías que tomé.
La mamá estaba protegiendo a toda su familia de pollitos, bajo sus alas. Miren la cantidad de patitas debajo de ella, fue una hermosura.
No nos tenía miedo a nosotros, puesto que nos acercamos bastante. Creo que temía por la presencia de algún gavilan en los árboles. Los cuales ya le robaron a uno de sus pollitos.
Fue un evento trágico para la familia, la mamá cacareaba mucho y todos en la casa corrieron a ver que pasaba, unos niños vieron como un gavilán había secuestrado al pollito, pero ya no había nada que hacer.
Desde entonces la gallina está más nerviosa y protectora con sus bebés. ¿Cómo culparla?
In the second photograph we still see the whole group of hens, roosters and chicks, running happily at my feet, hoping that I would give them food.
We also see a distant morrocoy walking in my direction in search of his ration.
You have to walk faster little buddy, or they won't leave you anything!
En la segunda fotografía seguimos viendo a todo el grupo de gallinas, gallos y pollitos, corriendo felices a mis pies, con la esperanza que yo les diera comida.
También vemos a un distante morrocoy caminando en mi dirección en busca de su ración.
¡Tienes que caminar más rápido amiguito, o no te dejarán nada!
Above is a portrait photo of this beautiful morrocoy, I don't know his age, but he is already a huge old man.
Arriba les regalo una fotografía retrato de este hermoso morrocoy, desconozco su edad, pero ya es un anciano enorme.
We continue with the tour and it is the turn of the sheep, I am particularly afraid of the sheep, because they are very treacherous, when a person is careless, they have the tendency to ram them from behind.
So if you are in a place with sheep or goats, never turn your back on them. That's my advice and that's what I practice.
They looked at me suspiciously, but I was not afraid of them hehehehe.
Continuamos con el recorrido y es el turno de los ovejos, particularmente le tengo miedo a los ovejos, porque son muy traicioneros, cuando una persona se descuida, ellos tienen la tendencia a embestirlos por la espalda.
Así que si están en un lugar con ovejos, chivos o cabras, nunca les den la espalda. Ese es mi consejo y es lo que practico.
Me miraban con recelo, pero yo no les tuve miedo jejeje.
I wanted to take pictures of the rabbits, but the sheep kept looking at me ugly.
So I added them to the photo to prove that I'm not lying. Nor that I'm paranoid for no reason.
In the end, I managed to get close to the little white bunny alone, taking advantage of the fact that the sheep went to the end of the yard to eat... or maybe to plan a strategy to attack me.
I don't know and we'll never know, because I got out of there unharmed.
Quise tomarle fotos a los conejos, pero los ovejos me seguían mirando feo.
Así que los agregué a la foto para demostrar que no miento. Ni que soy una paranoica sin razón.
Al final, logré acercarme solo al conejito blanco, aprovechando que los ovejos se fueron al final del patio a comer... o quizá a planear una estrategia para atacarme.
No lo sé y nunca lo sabremos, porque yo de allí salí ilesa.
As a last photo I managed to capture several of the species together. As you can see it is a very large place. There was always a lot of weeds covering the whole yard, but since my Aunt and her daughter started having the mini farm, the yard is always clean.
Como última foto logré captar a varias de las especies juntas. Como verán es un lugar muy amplio. Allí siempre hubo mucha maleza que cubría todo el patio, pero desde que mi Tía y su hija empezaron a tener la mini granja, el patio siempre está limpio.
We often go to the Mini Farm, because my Aunt is a teacher and gives Sebastian private lessons.
Then I will do photo sessions with each of the animals, and tell you more about their backgrounds and characters.
Solemos ir con frecuencia a la Mini Granja, porque mi Tía es maestra y le da clases particulares a Sebastián.
Luego le haré sesiones de fotografías a cada uno de los animales, y les contaré más sobre sus procedencias y caracteres.

Esta publicación me llevó en un viaje en el tiempo a los patios de las casas de Yaguaraparo hace 45 años. Todas eran unas mini granjas con animales y árboles frutales. Esas gallinas sin plumas en el cuello o cabeza las llamábamos "galipavas".
Que tiempos aquellos de abundancia y generosidad.
Una vecina, la señora Matilde, tenía muchos chivos. Solíamos tomar leche recién ordeñada en las mañanas. Ella la regalaba sin problema. Los chivos ciertamente pueden ser muy peligrosos y maniáticos.
