The singing cats of the area | Pets that we share in the community [ENG][ESP]

It seems common, depending on the country you are in, for cats to live around houses. Whether they are feral cats or domestic cats, they prowl everywhere visiting every house. In the urbanization where I live, specifically in my sector, we have a couple of cats that love to sing at the doors of every house, looking for food or just affection. They have become the pets of all the neighbors and have been with us for years.

Parece común, dependiendo del país en donde te encuentres, que los gatos vivan en los alrededores de las casas. Sean gatos salvajes o gatos domésticos, merodean por todos lados visitando cada casa. En la urbanización donde vivo, específicamente en mi sector, tenemos un par de gatos que les encanta cantar en las puertas de cada casa, buscando que les den comida o simplemente cariño. Se han convertido en las mascotas de todos los vecinos y ya tienen años entre nosotros.

I can't tell if they are really a pet of a specific neighbor, one day they arrived at my front door and since then I have seen them hanging around the area. This pair of cats has interesting characteristics, they don't invade your property, they simply sing in front of the house whether they are begging for food or just want affection.

No sabría decir sin son realmente una mascota de algún vecino en específico, un día llegaron a la puerta de mi casa y desde entonces los he visto merodeando la zona. Este par de gatos tiene características interesantes, no invaden tu propiedad, simplemente cantan en el frente de la casa ya sea que estén pidiendo comida o simplemente quieran cariño.

This is quite funny because they go from house to house, some people tell us that we should not give them food because more and more cats will come, but it has been about 3 years and they are still the same 2 cats. The reason is that one of the two is very territorial and when only one cat passes near, he goes out to fight against him and ends up chasing them away, as if saying that this is his area and that there is no more space for another cat.

Esto es bastante divertido ya que se la pasan de casa en casa, algunas personas nos comentan que no debemos darles comida porque vendrán mas y mas gatos, pero han pasado unos 3 años y siguen siendo los mismos 2 gatos. La cuestión esta es en que uno de los dos es muy territorial y al pasar tan solo un gato cerca, sale a luchar contra el y los termina ahuyentando, como diciendo que esta es su zona y que no hay mas espacio para otro gato.

Another curious fact is that they do not stay in the same house singing (I say singing because it seems like a concert between the two cats), you can give them food or make them love and the next day they are in another house and so they go from house to house. A week can go by when I don't see this pair of friends and they come back again, I listen to them from my room. Cats are very indifferent to people, but one of them gets excited when he sees a human or maybe he knows food is coming hahaha.

Otro dato curioso es que no se quedan en una misma casa cantando (Digo cantando porque pareciera un concierto entre los dos gatos), les puedes dar comida o hacerles cariño y al día siguiente están en otra casa y así van de casa en casa. Puede pasar una semana en que no vea a este par de amigos y vuelven otra vez, los escucho desde mi cuarto. Los gatos son muy indiferentes con las personas, pero uno de ellos se emociona cuando ve a un humano o quizás sabe que viene la comida jajaja.

Nobody has named them, they are like a free soul, but they stay to steal everyone's affection as if they were a real pet. I enjoy when they come home, feed them and pet them a little. Pets bring happiness, it is another kind of affection that is enjoyed, without complaints, in the quiet of knowing that a single caress or a small bite, is enough to see them happy.

Nadie les ha puesto nombre, son como un alma libre, pero que se quedan para robar el cariño de todos como si fuesen una autentica mascota. Yo disfruto cando vienen a casa, darles de comer y acariciarlos un poco. Las mascotas traen felicidad, es otro tipo de cariño entre que se disfruta, sin quejas, en la tranquila de saber que una sola caricia o un pequeño bocado, es suficiente para verlos felices.
