Crows life

Hi, our dear friends! As soon as I have already begun to talk so cheerfully about our winged inhabitants, I will continue. Hooded crows are on the agenda.
As typical city dwellers, they manage to constantly get into trouble. The main problem, of course, is wing injury.

Often this, alas, happens through the fault of humans. You already know Ksena - a crow with a shot wound.

Fortunately, the crow is a sociable bird that easily gets along with a person, so the loss of a wing does not become such a disaster for a bird as, for example, for hawks. In addition, it rarely comes to complete amputation. More often than not, the injury ends with the wing simply sagging. What does it give us? First, the bird's ability to maintain balance. Secondly, the ability to keep warm during the cold season. Fully one-winged birds have to be taken to a warm room.

Even in the absence of the ability to fly, crows remain very active. In the photo above, you can see two of these birds sitting on top of a fir tree in my yard. The speed with which they move through the tree is amazing!

Spring is the time of arrival of baby crows. Do not be alarmed! The chick you see above is fine. They sleep like that 😁 Although, of course, a head turned 180 degrees can impress!

The baby crows very quickly begin to consider you, if not their mother, then certainly a source of food! So get ready to feed, feed

and feed!

One of the most common black problems is rickets. One of the signs that everyone can recognize is a paw clenched into a "fist". If you get down to business right away - everything is fixable! Show the bird to the veterinarian, do the prescribed treatment, banish the worms, and then take a course of vitamins.

And finally ... No matter how fashionable, no matter how much you want ... friends! healthy birds should not be taken into the house. Firstly, if you are not ready for a hooligan, stealing, throwing things off creature, which, moreover, leaves everywhere traces of its life, please, don't! Because after a couple of months, the search for a new home for the bird begins, or it is kicked to the nearest park, where it, raised in captivity and does not have time to adapt to new conditions, simply dies.
When we release chicks raised by us, they go through a long period of adaptation, communicate with adult crows, comprehending the wisdom of a crow's life.
