5 Ways to stimulate expressive language
LEER CUENTOS
FRASES CORTAS
Al usar frases cortas facilitamos la comprensión. Recuerda no usar diminutivos como cobijita, zapatico, etc. Intenta que el niño comprenda de una forma correcta lo que quieres comunicar.
READ STORIES
Reading short stories with images about what happens is an incredible way to develop expressive language in children, this will help the child to relate vocabulary, emotions, actions and thus gain greater understanding.
REPETITIVE SONGS
Singing songs repeatedly helps to stimulate auditory memory, learn new words, and get rhythm associated with movement, for which it can be very helpful if you dance or clap your hands while singing.
POINT AND NAME
If we are creative and want to be dynamic when it comes to stimulating our children then we will know how to take advantage of everyday activities such as bath time, meal time, dressing, etc. To teach new vocabulary and function of everyday objects.
IMITATE SOUNDS
Before you can produce a word, you must imitate simpler elements. Making onomatopoeic sounds such as sneezing, crying, laughing, object or animal sounds will help acquire speech sounds.
SHORT PHRASES
By using short sentences we make it easier to understand. Remember not to use diminutives such as blanket, shoe, etc. Try to make the child understand in a correct way what you want to communicate.
