Cruising through Market Friday Challenge | Vietnamese Avocado Part II or Trái Bơ

This is an inspiration from Denise @dswigle to join the #MarketFriday Challenge! If you haven't followed her yet; please do so now as she is one of those genuine encourages with a true heart and soul to support people on HIVE!

Last week, I shared about my current craze for avocado in Vietnam and over the weekend, I finally got my chance to buy some from the local wet market near my home. I have to say that I was so excited about it that I could hardly sleep the night before. I was behaving like a school girl getting her first chance to go to the cinemas with her friends.

I took my time to walk around to search for the avocados; I'll admit I was wanting to find the most unique shapes possible so that I could share it with you. The ones on the right are the most common shapes while the ones on the left are the unique ones. Have you ever seen avocados in this shape ? It's one of my first as well 😆 That's why I had to stop and snap a photo of it.

I bought 3 avocados from this lady and it only cost me VND31,000, slightly above 1kg. This amounts to USD1.33 = MYR5.69 which is really darn cheap. Back home, 1 avocado would cost me at least MYR5.99 each. Isn't it amazingly fresh and large. I'm so glad I finally understood what this was and have the chance to buy it before the season is over.

My next post will be to share how the insides look like; if it was just as any other avocado 🤔. If you would like to check out my previous post, look here I'm looking for Vietnamese Avocado.

This is the one tag and weekly challenge that I try to make a point to join; not to mention that I'm also a fanatic when it comes to sight seeing or shopping in any form of market - indoors, outdoors, food, textile, accessories and etc.

How cool are those avocados? They almost look like plump zucchinis. Now I am really curious to see what they will look like! I am so glad you went down to the wet market and got them. Is the skin different than the standard one?

Who would have thought that avocados can be so interesting huh?
The skin is smoother than the ones back home, that's for sure.
I'm so grateful to have found this fruit and able to enjoy it during its season.
So full of vitamins and good for health.
