Looking for Christmas with Market Friday

avatar

If you are looking for me, I am still wandering the back aisles of my favorite store, the Christmas Market, I just cannot help myself! Without a doubt, it is the most wonderful time of the year. I know, I do say that a lot, but, just for a few moments, allow yourself to bask in the warmth of the season. Fair warning! Be prepared for a bit of seasonal happiness and joy that we will be showing today. Hark!!! I heard an angel sing! Do you hear what I hear??

Christmas with decorated tree.JPG

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive.

I have taken these all home. One year at a time. Oh, yes! I do love Santa! I have more, but I won't bore you. I just wanted you to know that Santa is my man.

santa clause.png

It's always good for us to pause
And think awhile of Santa Claus--
That jolly symbol we revere
When we approach the changing year.
Behind his beard so long and white,
In which our children take delight,
There beats a heart from color free
Which bids all children come to me

The Spirit of Santa Claus

IMG_5241 christmas.JPG

This is what is referred to as a Pencil Tree. Tall and skinny,, it fits in places that no ordinary tree would fit. I bought one specifically for my front entry way, or foyer. It has furniture in it, so there is no room for a regular sized tree. However, this slender rendition of a tree fits perfect. I like that they display all different kinds of trees that fit every need. You don't even have to want to buy these baubles, they are just pretty to look at. It is like going to a parade or a light show. You can just enjoy the scenery. For me, it gives me a few ideas on how to change things up a bit. Hey! It's Christmas and I actually enjoy just looking. I don't have to buy to be happy. Also, I don't have to store it if I don't buy it.

IMG_5110 Market.JPG

Homemade wooden signs, metal signs, and even vintage looking signs. Baby! It's Cold Outside! The sayings on these run from wintery words to whimsical wonders. If you can dream it, they can make one. They use great marketing to win your attention while wandering through this winter wonderland.

IMG_5127-001 tree.JPG

They break up their large space into rooms and decorate in different themes to reflect the season of joy and to create a place where dreams are made of. You might even see an elf decorating a tree or perhaps one of the resident bears. Someday, I will take him home. He has a great personality and is willing to do anything. There are literally twenty-five or thirty trees, to inspire your creativity.I tried to count them, but, got lost in the maze. Be careful! It's a trap!

IMG_5232 treee.JPG

Tell me it isn't true? There is something about the Season of Joy and Christmas trees that seem to capture the imagination of children, and sometimes, more often than you believe, adults. I can't even put my finger on it. I just knoew that sometime after Halloween, the change begins. I have stopped trying to anazlyze it and just embrace it.

Center Crest.png

Rules of the Road

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
  5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  6. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
  7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  8. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

bow tree.jpg

Do you see this? A bow tree! I love this idea. Many stores you must order a bow and they proceed to make you one. Here, there is an employee that makes bows all day long and clips them on the tree. You don't have to ask for one, just merely take it off and put it in your shopping cart, and then, of course, you need to pay the lady!

IMG_5310 christmas.JPG

The walls are covered with wreaths. You can get one that is made or order one and they will make it as you wait around in the store. You can even select fresh greenery unadorned to make your own or have them make it your way. Choices. Choices. Sometimes it makes the decision harder with too many choices.

wreaths.jpg

Please leave the link to your post here so it can easily be found by others. It helps you and me to have them in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you so much for joining us!! ❤

fruit tree.png

Accessorize with fruit and a bit of the green. What is not to love? Let the merry begin! Attach a ribbon or bow, grab some garland and let's go!! I finally found garland for my house. There was even a sale for forty percent off! Before the sale, it was overpriced, and even when it was marked down, it was still a little expensive and a tad overpriced.

As always, there must be flowers to color my world. #alwaysaflower

poinsetttisa 2.JPG

And just like that, this post is done. The market? Oh, yes! Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! I hope you had a good time and learned a little something new. As always, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit, and just remember, #MarketFriday loves you! Thank you for supporting the challenge! Have a most fabulous day! Cheers!!

20191130_122850.jpg

In keeping with the Christmas countdown with one picture and the countdown, there are 14 days, 23 hours, 50 minutes, and 29 seconds left! It is getting too close for comfort! I want it to last a little bit longer, keeping those elaborately decorated ornaments coming.

nativity.jpg

Of course, let's not forget the Reason for the Season.

Thank you so much. The Christmas season is such a wonderful time of year and I really like the fact that most everyone participated in it. It can be enjoyed as a secular or religious holiday now, one which includes all different walks.

Thank you for the words and for dropping your link.

All this fretting, eagerness, curiosity, and joy must come from childhood, right? The closer the calendar shows we approaching the Christmas holiday.
The supply of decorations is enormous and I think it's hard not to want some of each, I'm impressed with how much joy Christmas brings you (and your family) and I'm so glad it does.
I say again that your blogs are like articles in the most important magazines. You are Santa's ambassador here!

Growing up, the approaching Christmas holiday brought much joy to my mother and father. The entire family would get together all through the season at different times, not to exchange gifts, but, to exchange their love. To this day, it is still like that. I bake the fruitcake, my cousin makes the gingerbreads... We have big family gatherings. It is never extravagant, but, it is heartwarming. This is because some some live far, some live among each other and there has always been a need to connect and stay close with family, if only a few times a year.

I thank you for your compliments, and know you are being overly generous with your words! I appreciate them though! Have a wonderful day, Dan! @bluemoon

I just love the Christmas season. Once the hurry up and get it up is over, I like to sit back and enjoy those moments. It is even very rewarding to put it up, and you are right. I do enjoy it, perhaps even a little too much. :)

Nice, key words of spirit to welcome Christmas and New year, seeing the art of decoration is so beautiful. One of the arts to make up with the shape of a fir trees the upper end is always pointed, and the color of the lamp is so beautiful the color. Like it, thank you, terimakasih. Greetings,

Nice photos. We have a pencil tree in our house. It is about the only kind that will fit in the space we have without needing displace a lot of furniture. I think in our next house we are going to try and find something with a larger living area.

I just love pencil trees! They are so pretty and they fit so nicely in places! It makes everything Christmassy and you don't even have to hire someone to move all that furniture.

This house was built with that in mind. Big communal areas, den, dining room and kitchen, bar area. I find that the kitchen is the biggest must. We all seem to congregate in there.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words!

That's a really pretty Christmas market. And I love the pencil tree, I need to find one like that since I'm a little short on room in the best location to put up a tree. And the Christmas spirit is finally enjoyable again, now that I'm retired from the Postal Service, lol.

They have some really pretty pencil trees! I have one in my entry and I just love it! Get it at the end of the season and it will even be a great bargain! I am so happy that you retired from there. They are working our postal workers to the bone here. Seems like we have fewer people and more work.

Isn't that the American way?

You will have to post a tree picture when you get it! I look forward to it! Are you in Chaos now? :))

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words!

I'm hoping to get to our downtown Christmas market this weekend, even having a chestnut roasting barrel on the lawn of the Old State Capitol. But I'm having company this weekend so I'm not sure I'll be able to make it.

Yes, I opened my Chaos packs and I've tried using some of the new cards. It's difficult to relearn the splinters with all the new cards thrown in, but fun!

I know! Everything I have to do in between company, but, that is half the fun of the holidays! I love the roasted chestnuts! Reminds me of home in Connecticut! 💗

I have heard the same all over about Chaos!! But, soon, it will be a dog-eat-dog place! Except fun!! Yay! :)

Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market!

What about a bistro? I posted this for #MarketFriday: Lunch at the Heaven Bistro + the view to Szolnok city from the terrace - #MarketFriday (2021.12.10).

Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market!

Absolutely! That is exactly what I love! Something different, although I still like traditional markets. I happen to like them all, so whatever you choose is fine!

A bistro is perfect! Thank you so much for dropping the link!

Wow, someone in that store is very creative if they decorate each room in a different style. You are right: if the choice is too large, then I usually get lost and do not know what to choose.

They are hands down the most creative people I have ever met. Every holiday, every season, they put on such a wonderful display. It is so much fun to just look and enjoy. I don't even have to buy. I get enough pleasure with the eye candy. :)

Thanks so much, @tali72 for taking the time to read and comment and then dropping your link!

I was searching for "homemade" and found your post. I didn't know about market Friday. I love all the pictures here. I could get lost in a store for Christmas. I also can't believe they have a bow lady making bows all day long. All the different designs and themes for Christmas make my heart sing. This makes me want to go window shopping. The hardest part is after Christmas when you have to take all the decor down. I just love it, but it wouldn't hold the same magic if it was up year-round year after year. Thanks for sharing.
