The other day we took a drive to one of the farms that we spent a lot of time at this summer. It was quite different this time of year!

Polar Opposites

So the farm that we visited was a big staple for us this past summer. We discovers the hidden gem when we were out exploring one day looking for something to do and it was near the ocean area we like to visit so we said why not let’s check it out. We fell in love with the place! Not only was the whole farm beautiful, very picturesque New England farm look to it, but they had amazing produce and things in their store! We were smitten but it is a fair drive to get there. One of the big staples they have we love is they have huge tortilla wraps for not that expensive. Burrito size, and we go big or go home. Eating the tiny ones now just feels lame lol. We ran out of those wraps when a few weeks ago so we decided to make a special trip out there to also support a small business. That’s the most important thing to be doing with this planned destruction of economies around the world.

Reminiscing to this picture in the peak of the summer season was a little tough.

Because this was what it was like when we were there hahaha. Cold! It wasn’t too bad though, the wind was a real biter though. We still had fun exploring the fields without any restrictions today and the people that own the farm are great they don’t mind if you wander their fields as long as you don’t break stuff.

One of the benefits of being out in the elements when he’s the right age is that the little man gets a little bit of a thicker skin on him so to speak. We do want to move to a warm climate but at the same time we do realize that it’s not going to be balmy weather all the time so it’s good to get out in it when we can. He was having fun playing around in the trees and stuff, hunting for tracks of animals and the like.

I was glad that the animals were still out. These were here over the summer but they obviously trimmed their coats in the cold weather. They had full jackets during this time though let me tell you! I felt a little guilty that I was wearing a wool lined hoodie, this guys cousin hahaha but not too guilty. I was warm!

The animals aren’t stupid though. We didn’t have any food with us so they wanted nothing to do with us. There was another couple there for a little bit and they got all of the animals hanging out with them. They had food though so it was the animals tricking the humans with a little attention for some good old snacks. Smart little things!

One of the best things about the farm is they raise their own animals for slaughter. The cows are all grass fed and holy crap did it taste good! I’m not one to buy beef products too much, for health reasons but also because it’s expensive but the day we were there I decided to give it a try. I got beef stew tips and my god they were amazing! The meat was so tender and had a bunch of flavor, it was great. A good treat and the little mans first time eating beef. He liked it and had a big bowl of soup with it in it!
