Back in early June, as shit was hitting the fan here in the U.S., I decided to purchase a gas mask. With viruses and tear gas taking over the city streets, it just seemed like a smart investment. I bought a military grade CM-6M Tactical Gas Mask from MIRA Safety. These were backlogged for a couple of months, but it finally arrived this week.

It's a high-quality piece of equipment that includes a drinking system, a built-in speech diapraghm, a 5-point head harness and two filter points. It has a panoramic visor for maximum visibility during intense situations. The mask is made from bromobutyl rubber which has a high-level of resistance to chemical warfare agent penetration.

Below is a look at the water canteen that is made for the built-in drinking system. A sealed connection allows you to drink water without having to take off the mask. In a serious situation, this could be the difference between life and death.

The mask is nothing without a supply of filters. I bought four NBC-77 SOF CBRN Gas Mask Filters. These have a 20-year shelf life. They are made with Military-spec filtration technology and are deployed by NATO troops across the world. It has 40mm 1/7” NATO threading that's compatible with a wide variety of respirators and it protects from a wide range of harmful and highly toxic substances, including CBRN agents. Time to stock up!
