A View Over the Danube... in Budapest [Qurator's Photo Quest | Aerial Photography]

Good morning, early bees!

This is my entry for the Qurator's Photo Quest | Aerial Photography, hosted by @qurator. The theme for this week is Aerial Photography. 😊

If you have ever been in Budapest, you'll know right away where I was standing, when I took this photo. That's right, I was at the Citadella, which - for those who don't know - is the fortification at the top of the Gellért Hill.

From this high location, you can see pretty much the entire city of Budapest. But the most spectacular views are those over the river, of course. It's simply a lovely scene, with the bridges and the many boats docked all along the Danube River. Some of them are docked permanently and they act as restaurants, cafés, bars... and even boat hotels! 😎

If you ever decide to visit Budapest, don't forget to take a walk up to the Citadella.

This is a perfect place to take some photos and there's a nice street market up there, as well. It's well worth the time.

You can get there by foot from the centre of the city in around 40 or 45 minutes. It's not that long and it's a much better experience than taking a taxi or a bus up there. Yes, you'll have to climb a few paths... but believe me, you'll surely enjoy the scenery along the way much more than if you take the easy way up! 🤗
