En una montaña de San Diego, Cerro Kairoi, Carabobo – Venezuela / On a mountain in San Diego, Kairoi Hill, Carabobo - Venezuela
That Saturday we wanted to go to know a new place to hike, my friend had found out about a hike that could be done to a place called La Cumaca, located in the town of San Diego, in the state of Carabobo. We went there with my sister and another friend, or well, we thought we were going.
When we got to San Diego we stopped to ask some people where the beginning of the route to La Cumaca was, several told us more or less where it was, although not exactly, but they also told us that the place was somewhat dangerous, that if we weren't a big group we could go down the mountain naked, some people had been robbed recently.
When my sister heard that, she didn't want to go, while the rest of us were somewhat doubtful, however, as we didn't know the site and we didn't go with someone who knew it, we decided to discard it for that day and look for another so at least not lose our day.
Again we asked around if there was a mountain to climb and they recommended us to go to La Esmeralda urbanization, there is a hill that many people climb to exercise. We arrived and parked the car, there were quite a lot of people although when we started to climb the mountain we didn't see so many, probably because it was already somewhat late, almost 10:00 in the morning.
At first the climb is quite hard, but we were lucky because the day was cloudy so the sun didn't wear us down too much.
The entire route has low vegetation and the views are beautiful, this place is like a viewpoint of the population of San Diego. We still didn't know what this hill was called hahaha, then we learned that its name is Kairoi or La Esmeralda and its maximum height reaches about 700 meters.
The entire trail is marked so there is no chance of getting lost unless you veer off to the other side of the mountain.
On our way, the mist made its appearance, fortunately it didn't rain because then the descent was going to be more difficult and dangerous.
When we got to the top we rested a little and hydrated, I took the opportunity to take a few shots, although the sky was not blue, the place looked very beautiful.
It's a pity that there wasn't much green on the trail, the vegetation was somewhat dry and in some parts scorched.
In less than two hours we made this ascent to the Kairoi hill, that day wanting to go to another place we arrived at this one. Sometimes you have to let yourself go ...
