Cats, my photo gallery / Gatos, mi foto galería
No es que los busque, pero ellos aparecen, en ciudades, campos, playas, islas, hoteles, sitios históricos, cementerios, parques, mercados, restaurantes, casas o en la calle. Son los gatos, esos pequeños felinos tan hermosos como enigmáticos.
Almost all my life I have had cats, I think I know them, but they always surprise me with their behaviors and occurrences, not only my own but also the ones that I have briefly come across when I have been away from home.
Casi toda mi vida he tenido gatos, creo conocerlos, pero siempre me sorprenden con sus conductas y ocurrencias, no sólo los propios sino también los que efímeramente me he cruzado por ahí cuando he estado fuera de casa.
It is from the latter that I will share some stories and photographs. Cats that appeared in my path while I was out for a walk or traveling and I captured as pleasant moments in those places that I visited.
Es de estos últimos que compartiré algunas historias y fotografías. Gatos que aparecieron en mi camino mientras estaba de paseo o de viaje y capté como momentos agradables en esos lugares que visité.
On the streets / En las calles
It is where I least like to find them because although some are quite skilled, on the streets they are exposed to many dangers.
Es donde menos me gusta encontrarlos porque aunque algunos son bastante hábiles, en las calles están expuestos a muchos peligros.
These two, the black and white and the tabby, were together in a makeshift parking lot on a street.
Estos dos, el blanco y negro y el atigrado, estaban juntos en un estacionamiento improvisado en una calle.
Esta belleza negra estaba cerca de una plaza y el amiguito come flor también.
Walking through a port I came across this cat of a not so common gray color, I called him and he posed for me for a while.
Caminando por un puerto me topé con este gato de un color gris no tan común, lo llamé y posó un rato para mí.
I saw this scene while walking through a very touristy city, I was moved to see this lady feeding so many street cats.
Esta escena la vi mientras caminaba por una ciudad muy turística, me conmovió ver a esta señora alimentando a tantos gatos de la calle.
In parks / En parques
Surrounded by beautiful gardens, trees and flowers, I have found many cats that live in the parks of various cities that I have visited, they all looked healthy and happy.
Rodeados de bellos jardines, árboles y flores, me he encontrado muchos gatos que viven en los parques de varias ciudades que he visitado, todos se veían saludables y felices.
On the beach / En la playa
Very few times I have seen cats on the beach, on the docks yes because they want to eat some fish, but once walking along a boardwalk I heard some meows and saw these little kittens sheltered between some rocks, fortunately a few minutes later a couple came and took them home.
Pocas veces he visto gatos en la playa, en los muelles sí porque buscan comer algún pescado, pero una vez caminando por un malecón escuché unos maullidos y vi a estos pequeños mininos refugiados entre unas rocas, afortunadamante unos minutos después vino una pareja y se los llevó a su casa.
In restaurants / En restaurantes
In these places, especially when they are outdoors, I have shared many times with cats who come to ask you for food or simply look at you insistently while you eat hahaha, I always give them something even though I know they are well fed there, they are just used to eating something extra.
En estos lugares, sobre todo cuando son al aire libre, he compartido muchas veces con gatos que vienen a pedir comida o simplemente te miran con insistencia mientras comes jajaja, yo siempre les doy algo aunque sé que allí están bien alimentados, simplemente están acostumbrados a comer algo extra.
This cute black man was the mascot of a bar, I had gone with some friends to watch a soccer game and he was there in his chair.
Este lindo negro era la mascota de un bar, yo había ido con unos amigos a ver un partido de fútbol y él estaba ahí en su silla.
¿Quién puede ignorar estas miradas?
In hotels and inns / En hoteles y posadas
I'm sure I spend time with them in reception or common areas and I even invite them to my room, it's always fun, especially if they are little.
Seguro paso un rato con ellos en recepción o áreas comunes e incluso los invito a mi habitación, siempre es divertido, sobre todo si son chiquitos.
These little ones were in an inn where I stayed for a few days and when they entered my room they made disasters hahaha.
Estos pequeños estaban en una posada donde me quedé unos días y cuando entraron a mi cuarto hicieron desastres jajaja.
In markets and shops / En mercados y tiendas
Both in street sales and in stores, cats have been present when I have passed by. They are vigilant or taking their endless naps. I always stop to pet them and take them home in a pic.
Tanto en ventas callejeras como en tiendas, los gatos han estado presentes cuando he pasado por allí. Están vigilantes o tomando sus infinitas siestas. Siempre me detengo a acariciarlos y llevármelos a casa en una captura.
These kittens were in a traditional street market, they were given up for adoption.
Estos gatitos estaban en un tradicional mercado callejero, eran dados en adopción.
Behind a mall I found a pack of cats living there.
Detrás de un centro comercial me encontré con una manada de gatos viviendo allí.
The keeper of an antique shop.
El guardián de una tienda de antigüedades.
One Sunday in an indigenous market I saw this beauty.
Un domingo en un mercado indígena vi a esta belleza.
In historic sites and cemeteries / En sitios históricos y cementerios
Here it seems that they love to be, it is as if they were the owners because they are placed in the best places to observe and rest, no matter that there are people passing by.
Aquí parece que les encanta estar, es como si fueran los dueños porque se colocan en los mejores lugares para observar y descansar, sin importar que haya gente pasando al lado.
Don't they seem like the local guides?

In the cemetery no one seems to bother them, they get along well with the spirits ...
En el cementerio nadie parece molestarlos, se llevan bien con los espíritus...
In houses and neighborhoods / En casas y vecindarios
Leaning out of doors and windows, playing, eating or taking a nap, I have interrupted their activities and mine several times to take photos of them.
Asomados en puertas y ventanas, jugando, comiendo o tomando una siesta, he interrumpido varias veces sus actividades y las mías para tomarles fotos.

¡Wow! Me encantaron todas, quedaron muy preciosas estas fotos, me inspiras a salir a tomar mas fotos de animales mas seguido. Justo hoy le hice una sesión a mi pequeña gata Sarah y las publiqué en mi blog, definitivamente los pequeños felinos son hermosos. Espero ver mas de tu trabajo próximamente.

Wow!! Me gustaron todas las fotos, y me diste una idea. Hacer un Album digital de fotografias de mi gatita. Amo a los gatos, siempre he tenido uno o dos. En la casa de mi abuela donde me críe, han habido gatos siempre y desde que tengo memoria he vivido con gatos. Son Maravillosos. Excelente post.

Cats are integral parts of me and companions like none other. They are a source of entertainment, emotional support, and have individual personalities. Cats from your photos are truly cute and adorable even some of them might be a stray cat.
