Downtown Truckee, California Yesterday

After running an errand, then taking Quill dog for a walk in Downtown Truckee, I decided to take a quick drive up to the Cottonwood Restaurant. The restaurant and nearby hillside have a great view of historic Commercial Row and a bunch of cottonwood and aspen trees. As you can see from the photo, the fall foliage is looking beautiful so I fired off a few shots while Quill patiently waited in the car.

We've been getting below freezing temperatures at night on a regular basis now. Many leaves around the Tahoe area have already fallen but there are still plenty of pockets of color to be enjoyed. Hopefully I will be able to get out a couple more times before it's all gone...

Shot with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens, set at 75mm. Handheld photo, no tripod, with a polarizing filter on the front of the lens. The ISO was 400, the aperture was f/5.6, and the shutter speed was 1/200 of a second.

Thank you for looking and I hope you are all having a great day!

Fall colors here in Estonia were gone in an instant this time. Just as we got some peak colors, the storm came and deleted almost all the colors 😄

Bummer! I was afraid that was going to happen here, and we did loose a lot of the early colorful aspen leaves due to a storm, but fortunately the cottonwood trees turn later and they are still looking great!

Fun photo. I like the way the colorful buildings and the colorful trees seem in harmony.

Thanks! It's such a great time of year up here. We're supposed to get a decent snowstorm next week so I better get at it while I can. Cheers!
