You know, Marian and I were discussing ibuprofen last night when I typed the message.
I asked her what pain tablets she gave me after my backward flip when I tramped into a hole three days ago. Panado is Aspirin and Ibuprofen is much better.

Yep, for inflammation ibuprofen is the go. We gave a tablet called Maxigesic that combines both, paracetamol and ibuprofen. It's not strong enough for me, but it works for Faith. She's not much of a pill-taker though, hates it in fact. I'm forcing the issue. :)
Amazing as I also detest pills and Marian hand feeds me the buggers every day at certain hours.
To soften the blow she says; "Come and have your sweeties" lol.
I heard that ibuprofen should not be taken long term, so be careful with that stuff.
Yep, Ibuprofen isn't something one wants to take for extended periods and should probably be taken with food to minimise the affect on the stomach lining. The same with all anti-inflammatories really. I have Celebrex prescribed with is a few levels up from your run of the mill Ibuprofen tablet and take that if I need to...It's for arthritis which I have in my back and top of my shoulders. Thanks old age. Lol.
Well you are certainly well informed about medicines and that is a great boost to my confidence in your nursing abilities :)
I have another friend here that also suffers from arthritis in his hands and a few in the old age homes that we support. Sad thing is that there is no permanent cure!
I've had arthritis since the age of thirty, been a constant battle that I mostly win, but it flares up at times. It's all good though, I'm pretty good at dealing with it, and when I don't, there's pills. 😏
Oh man, I really feel for you. But the thing is that it makes us used to pain.
I have constant pain in the left leg, but I have learned to ignore it.
The fear is that as I get older it will have to eventually come off, but such is life.
Thankfully you have also learned how to manage it and let's hope that a miraculous cure will materialize.
How is the mother in law doing?
My tolerance to pain is pretty high because of this situation, I don't like it, but it's there and I can't do anything about it really, so I just deal with it. I'll get by, and eventually won't feel anymore pain at all.
She seems fine. We're having dinner there on Saturday night so I'll judge it from there. I haven't seen here all week. Faith says she seems ok though, they speak every day.
Yes, that's exactly what I meant, we become conditioned to ignore pain.
However many don't and it drives them mad.
Good to hear that she seems fine as she must be going through a very difficult time. Good that she has Faith around to talk to.
