Human beings are something special, in the good sense of the word and in the bad sense too, for example in photography, those who don't have a camera and only have a phone, usually excuse themselves behind that fact, those who have a camera but with their most basic equipment justify themselves by saying they don't have a better lens and so on, so with this in mind, yesterday while I was taking pictures in the park, I decided to remove the lens I had on the camera body and put back the 18-55mm which I hadn't used for a long time.

Los seres humanos somos algo especial, en el buen sentido de la palabra y en el malo también, por ejemplo en fotografía, quienes no tienen una cámara fotográfica y solo tienen un teléfono, suelen excusarse tras ese hecho, quienes tienen una cámara fotográfica pero con su equipo más básico se justifican diciendo que no tienen un mejor lente y así sucesivamente, así que con esto en mente, ayer mientras andaba tomando fotografías por el parque, decidí quitar el lente que tenía en el cuerpo de la cámara y poner de vuelta el 18-55mm el cual tenía mucho tiempo sin usar.

The truth is that you can get very good results with this lens, especially in landscape photography where we need apertures like F/8 to F/22, yesterday I was taking pictures at 2pm, the sunlight was very harsh, but that allowed me to close my aperture to have everything in focus, with a quite acceptable shutter speed, I was between 160s to 250s or something like that.

La verdad es que puedes obtener resultados muy buenos con este lente, sobre todo en fotografía de paisaje donde necesitamos aperturas como F/8 a F/22, ayer estuve tomando fotos a las dos de la tarde, la luz del sol era muy dura, pero eso me permitía cerrar mi apertura para tener todo en foco, con una velocidad de disparo bastante aceptable, estuve entre los 160s a 250s o algo así.

But now the story, while I was walking in the park looking for something interesting, besides the birds that were sunbathing, I realized that I had left the 18-55mm lens in the backpack, the truth is that while I'm at home, I always keep the lens in the backpack with all the equipment, but when I go out I choose what I want to take so I don't go carrying equipment that I won't really use, yesterday for some reason that I had not planned, I forgot to take the lens out, so when I got to the park and took out the camera was when I saw it, at that moment I decided that I had to wait for the right moment to use it.

Pero ahora la historia, mientras anduve en el parque buscando algo interesante, además de las aves que estaban tomando el sol, me di cuenta de que había dejado el lente 18-55mm en la mochila, la verdad es que mientras estoy en casa, siempre guardo el lente en la mochila con todo el equipo, pero cuando salgo escojo lo que quiero llevar para no ir cargando equipo que en realidad no usaré, ayer por alguna razón que no tenía planeada, olvidé sacar el lente, así que cuando llegue al parque y saqué la cámara fue cuando lo vi, en ese momento decidí que tenía que esperar el momento adecuado para darle uso.

I had forgotten how versatile the lens is, one moment you are at 18mm and the next second you are at 55mm, it's crazy when you think about it like that, because it really covers a lot of situations on a daily basis, after months of using prime lenses like the 50mm and 24mm, I must admit it was very satisfying to use the kit lens again, and it's not that all the photos were taken at 18mm I tried to find the best composition at its different focal lengths.

Había olvidado lo versátil que es el lente, en un momento estas a 18mm y al siguiente segundo estás a 55mm, es de locos cuando lo piensas así, porque en verdad cubre muchas situaciones en el día a día, después de meses utilizando lentes prime como el 50mm y el 24mm, debo admitir que fue muy satisfactorio utilizar de nuevo el lente kit, y no es que todas las fotos las haya tomado a 18mm traté de encontrar la mejor composición en sus diferentes distancias focales.

Of course for being a kit lens we will have some problems in sharpness, but now that I see it with a little more experience and without the words of "the great photographers" telling me that the kit lens is a piece of shit, I can say that it does its job and does it well, an inexperienced eye will hardly notice the difference between one result or another, so if you only have the kit lens, don't stop taking pictures because of it, just look at the beautiful color in the sky! And even though I don't like saturated colors.

Claro que por ser un lente kit tendremos algunos problemas en la nitidez, pero ahora que lo veo con un poco más de experiencia y sin las palabras de "los grandes fotógrafos" diciéndome que el lente kit es una mierda, puedo decir que hace su trabajo y lo hace bien, un ojo no experimentado difícilmente notará la diferencia entre un resultado u otro, así que si sólo tienes el lente kit, no dejes de tomar fotografías por ello, mira nada más que hermoso color en el cielo! Y eso que no me gustan los colores saturados.

I didn't spend a lot of time taking these pictures, the truth is that I already had another project in mind, so I tried to make the most of the time I used the kit lens.

No fue mucho tiempo el que utilicé para tomar éstas fotografías, la verdad es que ya me encontraba tras otro proyecto en mente, así que traté de exprimir al máximo el tiempo que usé el lente kit.

Without a doubt I like this image too much, and you can see that the light was really hard at that moment, however the result after editing I like it a lot, and it wasn't so difficult to achieve, actually almost everything was done with luminance masks.

Sin lugar a dudas ésta imagen me gusta demasiado, y pueden darse cuenta de que la luz era verdaderamente dura en ese momento, sin embargo el resultado después de la edición me gusta mucho, y no fue tan difícil de conseguir, en realidad casi todo fue hecho con máscaras de luminancia.

Something I didn't do was to clean the dirty water, it is a natural park surrounded by trees and wild animals that end up dirtying the place, but it is part of the site and although aesthetically in a portrait photograph it wouldn't look good, I think here it gives more value to the image by looking more natural.

Algo que no hice fue limpiar el edición lo sucio del agua, es un parque natural rodeado de árboles y animales silvestres que al final terminan ensuciando el lugar, pero es parte de sitio y aunque estéticamente en alguna fotografía de retrato no se verían bien, creo que aquí le da más valor a la imagen al verse más natural.
