He redescubierto ese 20% extra de vida que da la edición a una foto. Soy de los que dice que una buena foto hace el 80% del trabajo y el resto se lo debemos a la postproducción. Ambos son complementarios, nunca podrás llegar al 100% si te falta alguno.
En estos días he estado concentrando mi mente en crear arte con las ediciones. Sigo trabajando en mi identidad gráfica y como hay un rebrote de Coronavirus, no he realizado más sesiones fotográficas desde hace mucho tiempo, solo he estado editando fotos de antiguos trabajos con los que he ido puliendo esos detalles.
No les miento, este proceso de revelado puede llevar horas. También puedes demorar poco si tu mente sabe cómo va a lucir tu fotografía. La identidad es un ensayo y error de colores, tonos y sombras, y la tarea se vuelve más difícil si no has podido realizar más fotos.

I have rediscovered that extra 20% of life that edition gives to a photo. I'm one of those who say that a good photo does 80% of the work and the rest we owe to postproduction. Both are complementary, you can never reach 100% if you are missing one of them.
These days I have been concentrating my mind on creating art with editing. I'm still working on my graphic identity and since there is a resurgence of Coronavirus, I haven't done any more photo shoots for a long time, I've only editing photos of old works with which I've been polishing those details.
I'm not bluffing, this developing process can take hours. It can also take a short time if your mind knows what your photo is going to look like. Identity is a trial and error of colors, tones and shades, and the task becomes more difficult if you haven't been able to take more photos.
En este caso, me queda trabajar con fotos que yo considere que tengan potencial, debo ajustar la creatividad y luego proceder a hacer ajustes extremos a la foto para que mi cerebro abra sus posibilidades de ver lo que tiene que ver y así se detenga en esa textura, color y brillo que anhela.
Podemos, en primer lugar, ver si la perspectiva de la imagen es la adecuada. Si eso no funciona podemos forzar la perspectiva como lo he hecho con una de las fotos.
In this case, I am reduced to working with photos that I feel have potential, I must adjust the creativity and then proceed to make extreme adjustments to the photo to open up my brain to see what it needs to see when it stops at that texture, color and brightness it wants instead.
We can, first of all, see if the perspective of the image is right. If that doesn't work we can force the perspective as I have done with one of the photos.
Después recortamos según la sensación que queramos trasmitir y finalmente nos toca ir ajustando las capas, colores y calibraciones que nos llamen la atención.
En estos revelados, y en los últimos que he hecho, estoy apostando a mostrar una cara netamente artística. En todos mis trabajos anteriores también estaba presente esta cualidad, pero no conscientemente. Ahora la he añadido como forma principal de expresión.
Es un avance simple para lo mucho que me falta, tomando en cuenta que prácticamente estoy detenido en cuanto a nuevas sesiones de fotografía por la pandemia, lo que pasa es que estoy cuidándome, cuidando de mi familia y de otros al no exponerme. Pero claro que quisiera estar desarrollando los proyectos que tengo en mente.
Then we crop according to the feeling we want to transmit and finally we adjust the layers, colors and calibrations that catch our attention.
In these developing, and in the last ones I've done, I'm betting on showing a purely artistic side. In all my previous works this quality was also present, but not consciously. Now I have added it as a main form of expression.
It is a simple advance for how much I lack, taking into account that I'm practically stopped in terms of new photo shoots by the pandemic, what happens is that I'm taking care of myself, taking care of my family and others by not exposing myself. But of course I would like to be moving forward with the projects I have in mind.
Por ahora solo puedo ir ensayando con lo que tengo, no puedo cambiar los viejos conceptos que ya he desarrollado, sobre todo porque mi estilo de edición es a base de filtros y sin añadir nada. No uso Photoshop. Yo edito con Adobe Lightroom y allí solo puedes crear a partir únicamente de lo que está en la foto.
Me toca seguir por ese camino hasta que, espero que pronto, vuelva a hacer click sin miedo.
For now I can only rehearse with what I have, I can't change the old concepts that I have already created, especially because my editing style is based on filters and without adding anything. I don't use Photoshop. I edit with Adobe Lightroom and there you can only create from what is in the photo.
I have to keep going down that road until, hopefully soon, I will be able to click again without fear.
