Plaza de Armas
(Edited)
Plaza de Armas, Cusco, Peru. During the Inca Empire the square was called Huacaypata or Aucaypata. The Cusco Cathedral to the left of frame was constructed between 1559 and completed in 1669. It is built on the site where the Inca Wiracochas Palace once stood. The southeastern side (centre of frame) is the the church of La Compania also built in the 16th century on the Inca foundations of the Palace of Huayna Capac.

Oh this brings back memories, was there 15 years ago xx
Nice. It is such a cool town.
Sounds like a cool place to visit. Full of history, I bet!
Yep it is an amazing city
Cathedrals and place of worship always have great architectures. Stunning picture.
Thanks. It is a beautiful square but with a terrible history.
Missing so much Cusco, I loved! I was there more than a month when I was traveling as a backpacker in 2014! haha amazing place and culture! great photo!
Such a cool city. I would love to spend a few months there.
Probably looked slightly different when it was completed vs now though XD
Those buildings look pretty old.
Yep 1669
That's pretty old.
The sad thing is that the amazing inca city that was there from 500 years earlier was torn down for the spanish to build this.
That's much less good, I don't like that -_-
Never been there, but Peru is definitely a country I have to visit.
Only one Z in plaza :)
Love the photo.
Thanks. Not sure how that exta z slipped in there. Good pickup.
