MY PRECIOUS MEMORY

This is my entry for the photocontest from @photo52 for week 21, theme "Memories".

Rowan

I can't help but dedicate this post to you Rowan. My very best friend, my soul mate, my everything. You were by my side for 11 years, and you were the sunbeam in my life for 11 years.

Until last December 21 everything changed. We had to let you go and you became a memory.

The memory remains alive

A memory that remains alive through the many photos I have taken of you. A memory that is sometimes painful and tears roll down my cheeks. But also a memory that often brings a smile to my face.

Your name is still on my mind

In the most unexpected moments I think of you, and the times I have said “Oh, Rowan always did that”, I can't count anymore. Almost every day your name rolls over my lips, and every day I look at your photo on the cupboard.

How I wish you were still here with me ...

My precious Memory

That empty place

That great loss
And I wonder
Why you had to go across
You still wanted to live
You still wanted to do so much
You still had so much to give

You were my soul mate,
not just any pet
You shouldn't have been

A memory yet

Dawwww. I love doggies, too. When my last pooch passed I bawled. I like thinking that they'll all now in green pastures with plenty of room to run and treats to enjoy. What a great looking doggie.

That's a very nice thought ... I like to think so too. And he now plays with the friends that had to leave us before he left.

He sure was a great looking doggie, and his character was just as great as his looks. Just like I said. He shouldn't have been a memory yet.

Its just a month before, I lost my dog as well. Sometimes I feel dogs are like your true friend, without telling anything they tend to understand you so well. A beautiful living being.Sorry for your loss.💚

Sorry for your loss too. I feel for you! I know how hard it is to loose your beloved dog. And yes they are true friends. They love unconditional, and that's a thing we can learn from them. Wish you strength too ❤️

Well, what can I say? They all go too early!

This is an amazing photo with the beautiful dog below the rainbow. That's a really lovely memory.
It's only been five months and these thoughts will accompany you for quite a while longer, I know that from own losses, but memories like this photo help a lot 🙂

Thank you for the tips.

Yes they all go much too early. But ... in the time they are here, they give so much. They give unconditional, they live intense ... Every day they give all they have. And we can only be good for them, and be grateful for their loyalty and true friendship.

You're very welcome @hetty-rowan 🙂
Very nice and wise words - they give unconditional, they live intense - and very nice words.
I can only completely agree and wish you a wonderful day and weekend 🙂

It's hard to loose the ones you love, but when I think of all the good times we had I would change a single thing and I can only be grateful for 11 years of true loyalty and friendship.
