Beautiful Lilac Star - Ipomoea Carnea [EN] // Hermosa Estrella Lila - Ipomoea Carnea [ES]
I have always said it, we never know the gems that we can find in the undergrowth, a couple of days ago I went out to the field to walk and also take some pictures, I found a great variety of plants considered as undergrowth, and that, because of the rains of the last days, most of them paint beautiful colors with their flowers. I found several flowers of the species Ipomoea, and that besides being beautiful they all have amazing characteristics and properties.
In this opportunity I share with you the flowers of Ipomoea Carnea, considered a weed for being an invasive plant, and of very easy culture, since it reproduces very fast, in addition it is climbing, reason why it is able to tuck great spaces, this beauty particularly was covering a great amount of garbage that was to the side of the highway, So let's say that it disguised a bit the ugliness of the landscape, and is that these flowers are really beautiful, its lilac color, is really beautiful, and draws attention to meters away, which is why it is also used as an ornamental plant.
What surprises me about this plant is that it also has medicinal properties, since it is anticonvulsant and sedative, its seeds are toxic, and it is for this reason, like the other varieties of ipomoea, they are not consumed by cattle, and that is why they are so abundant in the countryside giving us that beautiful view.
I am seriously thinking of looking for some seeds of these plants, because I would love to have the external wall of my house covered with these flowers, I have to investigate how is their behavior and stage of bloom to see if I dare definitely to this, for the moment I leave you these photographs to fall in love with them as I do.

Siempre lo he dicho, nunca sabemos las gemas que podemos encontrar en la maleza, hace un par de días que salí al campo a caminar y también tomar algunas fotografías, me encontré con una gran variedad de plantas consideradas maleza, y que, por las lluvias de los últimos días, en su mayoría todas pintan de hermosos colores con sus flores. Me encontré con varias flores de la especie Ipomoea, y que además de ser hermosas todas tienes características y propiedades asombrosas.
En esta oportunidad les comparto las flores de Ipomoea Carnea, considerada maleza por ser una planta invasora, y de muy fácil cultivo, ya que se reproduce muy rápido, además es trepadora, por lo que es capaz de arropar grandes espacios, esta belleza particularmente estaba tapando una gran cantidad de basura que se encontraba a un lado de la carretera, así que digamos que disimulaba un poco lo feo del paisaje, y es que estas flores son realmente hermosas, su color lila, es realmente hermoso, y llama la atención a metros de distancia, razón por la cual también es utilizada como planta ornamental.
Lo que me sorprende de esta planta es que además tiene propiedades medicinales, ya que es anticonvulsiva y sedante, sus semillas son toxicas, y es por esta razón, que al igual que las otras variedades de ipomoea, no son consumidas por el ganado, y es por esto que abundan tanto en el campo regalándonos esa hermosa vista.
Estoy pensando seriamente buscar algunas semillas de estas plantas, pues me encantaría tener la pared externa de mi casa cubierta de estas flores, me toca investigar cómo es su comportamiento y etapa de florescencia para ver si me animo definitivamente a esto, por el momento les dejo estas fotografías para que se enamoren de ellas como yo.
