Box of chocolates

“My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”
-- Forest Gump

A bit like those undiscovered paths that you choose to follow and you don't know what you will find around the corner.
This is not really the case, cause I know the path very well, but when you take a magic lens with you (Helios 40-2mm) it is like discovering every little bit of it all over again. And every little bit looks like you have never seen it before.

This is Crataegus monogyna commonly known as Common hawthorn. There is so many of them in that area! As a kid I remember picking the tiny little apples and eating them directly from the tree. (I am still surprised I didn't die of some food poisoning after eating all the crap around :p)
Now I see them (also on the first photograph) with million of little bubbles around and freshy opened flowers.

Few last dandelions waiting for be blown away...

And much taller grasses will watch them fly away.

And then you enter Elderberry land and the fragrance of the flowers hits you and you just want to stay there. I don't know if it is just me, but I just love that smell! Thousands and thousands of snowflake like flowers that will turn to thousands and thousand of little black berries.

The sun is getting lower and the we are getting closer to my favourite part of the day. The silent part when every little creature awaits for the night.

I am waiting for the weather to improve a bit and try to get those autumn leaves before they are all gone...

our leaves gone. (due to my wife C-19 illness and all involved problems I missed all the 2nd half of October which I had big plans for). Wasnt going outdoors, paused following baby to school and streetphotos, and then November came with rains, grey skies, no sun and no leaves. At least I visited the cemetary once before the rains and massive gloom started... (but already missed all the gold on the trees). So, waiting for the next year!

Autumns are way too short if you ask me..
Could take some of the summer time.
Hope wife is ok now.

ps. this happened a while ago, and she left it behind, suffered a lot from it (as she is a tender creature) but without the worst scenario -- no lungs damaged, she spent those weeks in her own bed. now e'thing is okey, more or less... thanks for your best wishes, Ewa

This old manual lens can do wonders.
Try also flipping the front lens glass. I am sure you will like the result :)

I wouldn't dare. It is not mine.
And even if it was... I wouldn't dare either :p Too precious.. what if I break it?

It's impossible to break anything there
Simply unscrew the front pressure ring and flip the glass back to front. And then you fix it again. There is only one peculiarity. I have two Helios and they are slightly different from each other. On one of them, the inverted glass sits loosely after being turned over. Although this does not interfere with the shooting.
In our country, this type of lens is still produced, and the old ones are quite cheap.
//

I will try with the 44-2. It is much cheaper. Just in case :p

you can buy one if its so cheap do the flip-flop and send it to @ewkaw, that really would be a tzar's gift!

well, no! not on me! photo-lovers curating account have brought me here (and your name under that pic, ofc). but I was really going to get some chocolate, DEFINITELY.

I should note, this happened to me recently twice (this is the third in a row!) when my attention was drawn to this trick - a pity headline, or catchy text eye-catcher (or a click bait, as you name it. good name, I like it)... so funny, its a good weapon / receip, I really should take this into my arsenal

:)
