This river is the Otc River (乙川, otogawa) and was a somewhat important river back in the day for sending rice to Edo^[1].

Okazaki castle is up and to the right. But...it's blocked from view by that ugly hotel there.

This is the location of the fireworks show every year, which takes place in August. A pretty important deal around these parts. They block off the area so you can't see what is happening in the river unless you pay boatloads of money. As for the hotel (the one blocking our view of the castle), which has a direct view of the event? Rumor has it that the yakuza rent out every room with a good view for the event.
