What's up people! Welcome to my blog. Today I want to share with the community some pictures I took some time ago in Plaza Francia, one of the most famous squares in Venezuela.
I took these pictures some time ago with my Sony CyberShot DSC-W510 camera and I edited them using VSCO-Cam, I know it's not the best editing program but at that time I didn't have a smartphone or a computer to edit in Lightroom, so I edited on my tablet with what I could. Although I know they are not my best photos in terms of editing, I do like the shots, and since they are from an iconic place in Caracas I decided to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them 💙
¡Qué dice la gente! Bienvenidos a mi blog. El día de hoy quiero compartir con la comunidad unas fotografías que tomé hace un tiempo en la Plaza Francia, una de las plazas más conocidad de Venezuela.
Estas fotos las tomé hace tiempo con mi cámara Sony CyberShot DSC-W510 y las edité utilizando el programa VSCO-Cam, se que ese no es el mejor programa de edicón pero para aquel momento no tenía celular inteligente ni computadora a la mano para editar en Lightroom, así que editaba en la tablet con lo que podía. Aunque se que no son mis mejores fotos en cuanto a edición los planos si me gustan, y como son de un lugar icónico de Caracas decidí compartirlas con ustedes. Espero lo disfruten💙
About The Plaza Francia | Acerca de La Plaza Francia
As I said before, this square is well known in Venezuela, as this place has done everything from food fairs and book fairs to being one of the most intense points of protests in the territory during 2017. This square has witnessed laughter, concerts, robberies and blood.
Plaza Francia has an obelisk and a water mirror, which have become a symbol of the Chacao Municipality. In this photo you can capture both ➡️.
Como dije antes, esta plaza es muy conocida en Venezuela, pues en este lugar se ha hecho de todo, desde ferias de comida y ferias de libros hasta ser uno de los puntos de protestas más intensos del territorio durante el 2017. Esta plaza ha presenciado risas, conciertos, robos y sangre.
La Plaza Francia tiene un obelisco y un espejo de agua, los cuales se han vuelto un símbolo del Municipio Chacao. En esta foto puede capturar ambos ⬆️
I was doing some research about the history of the place and it turns out that in its beginnings it was not called Plaza Francia, but Plaza Altamira, same name of the area where it is located, but years later the name was changed as a result of an agreement between Caracas and Paris, because they wanted to have a Plaza Francia in Caracas and a Plaza Venezuela in Paris.
Besides this, the Plaza Venezuela located in France has a copy of the work Fisicromía a doble cara of the Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, work that is also located in the Plaza Venezuela located in Caracas. Here I share photos of both squares so you can see that it is the same work.
Estuve investigando un poco sobre la historia del lugar y resulta que en sus inicios no se llamaba Plaza Francia, sino Plaza Altamira, mismo nombre de la zona donde está ubicada, pero años más tarde se le cambió el nombre a raíz de un convenio entre Caracas y Paris, pues querían tener una Plaza Francia en Caracas y una Plaza Venezuela en París.
Además de esto, la Plaza Venezuela ubicada en Francia tiene una copia de la obra Fisicromía a doble cara del artista venezolano Carlos Cruz-Diez, obra que también se encuentra en la Plaza Venezuela ubicada en Caracas. Acá les comparto fotos de ambas plazas para que noten que es la misma obra.
