In the year 2000 my second son was born and the first of them turned two years old. At that time I was in the middle of a very eclectic musical project and for it I composed this song dedicated to my children.

I spent my whole life waiting for the moment to have kids, it was a dream, a very deep longing and, as expected, their arrival was one of the most beautiful things that have happened to me in my life.

What the lyrics narrate is, in a way, true. I wanted to write a lyric that was full of symbolism and magic, but when I saw them, tenderness took over me and the things that came to my mind were so simple and recurrent, like how beautiful, how much I love them, how happy! I saw them and I felt that I had to speak to them clearly and make them feel my love.

Finally, in the absence of metaphors, I came up with these lyrics, which since then, became the song that touches me most deeply.

As an eclectic project, the melody and rhythm were based on two musical genres from Uruguay, murga and candombe. But this time, since my whole life at the moment is revolving around salsa, I wanted to bring this version with that Caribbean essence.

This is my participation for the Hive Open Mic, week 54. Precisely dedicated to the family. So with all my love and the permission of my hivers friends, today I dedicate it again to Liber and Iker, who are my children and my greatest loves and to the woman who made this miracle possible, my wife Irene.

En el año 2000 nació mi segundo hijo y el primero de ellos cumplió dos años. En ese momento estaba en medio de un proyecto musical muy ecléctico y para el mismo compuse esta canción dedicada a mis hijos.

Yo pasé toda mi vida esperando el momento de tener hijos, era un sueño, un anhelo muy profundo y, como era de esperarse, su llegada fue de las cosas más hermosas que me han pasado en la vida.

Lo que narra la letra es, de alguna manera, verdad. Yo quería escribir una letra que estuviera llena de simbolismos y de magia, pero cuando los veía a ellos la ternura se adueñaba de mí y las cosas que me venían a la mente eran tan sencillas y recurrentes, como ¡qué bonitos!, ¡cuánto los quiero! ¡qué felicidad! Y es que los veía y sentía que había que hablarles clarito y hacerles sentir mi amor.

Finalmente, ante la ausencia de metáforas, surgió esta letra, que desde entonces, se convirtió en la canción que me toca más profundamente.

Como proyecto ecléctico que era aquel, la melodía y el ritmo los hice sobre dos géneros musicales de Uruguay, murga y candombe. Pero en esta oportunidad, ya que toda mi vida en este momento está girando en torno a la salsa, quise traer esta versión con esa esencia caribeña.

Esta es mi participación para el Hive Open Mic, semana 54. Precisamente dedicada a la familia. Así que con todo mi amor y el permiso de los amigos hivers, hoy se la vuelvo a dedicar a Liber y a Iker, que son mis hijos y mis más grandes amores y a la mujer que hizo posible este milagro, a mi esposa Irene.
