Hive Music Festival Week 9 Round 2 - "Tarde Gris" (Cover)

Unfortunately, last week it was impossible for me to make my entry for the first round of this new season of the Hive Music Festival, which basically takes away one's chance of adding up the points to be able to win at the end. But definitely "winning" is not the only thing that motivates one to participate in these events, but it is mainly the pleasure of making a contribution, besides having the possibility of bringing the music that one likes.
There are numerous songs from the Venezuelan popular repertoire, which are a beauty. This waltz by Oswaldo Oropeza, called "Tarde Gris" (Gray afternoon) is one of them. I like it so much that it is part of the repertoire I have in my salsa project with a traditional repertoire and on one occasion I participated with this same song, also accompanied with the Venezuelan cuatro, but on that occasion with the Caribbean rhythm. However, the change of rhythm simply obeys a project, since in its original waltz rhythm, it is equally beautiful.
This is the version I bring today to share in this week 9, second round, of the Hive Music Festival.
Lamentablemente la semana pasada me fue imposible hacer mi entrada para la primera ronda de esta nueva temporada del Hive Music Festival, lo cual ya le quita a uno, básicamente, la posibilidad de sumar los puntos para poder ganar al final. Pero definitivamente "ganar" no es lo único que lo motiva a uno a participar en estos eventos, sino es principalmente el gusto de uno hacer su aporte, además de tener la posibilidad de traer la música que a uno le gusta.
Hay numerosas canciones del repertorio popular venezolano, que son una belleza. Este vals de Oswaldo Oropeza, llamado "Tarde Gris", es uno de ellos. Tanto me gusta que forma parte del repertorio que tengo en mi proyecto de salsa con repertorio tradicional y en una ocasión participé con esta misma canción, también acompañada con el cuatro venezolano, pero en aquella oportunidad con el ritmo caribeño. Sin embargo el cambio de ritmo obedece simplemente a un proyecto, puesto que en su ritmo original de vals, es igualmente hermosa.

Nice. Last weekend I was invited on traditional peruvian food party called pachamanca. We were cooking, eating, drinking and dancing for two days with many Peruvian, Bolivian and also some Venezuelan people. After that weekend I really started enjoying your local music and culture.
Awesome! Experiences like this are important because they help to open our minds, they show us other ways of understanding life!
But also, only in Venezuela we have registered more than 300 musical forms. That is, here a lot to know... 😉

Siempre que veo algún post tuyo pienso en lo genial que sería tener un profesor como usted en mi universidad de las artes. Cuando me vine hace siete años a Caracas todavía prometía, a pesar de ser pública pero hoy día ya no hay motivación de ir. Los verdaderos profesionales se fueron del país.
