Saludos a la comunidad musial #music en #hive espero se encuentren muy bien todos tal vez escuchando algo de Buena música, en esta oportunidad quiero hacer un post bastante cercano al corazón pues quiero hablarles de un intérprete que descubrí de manera fortuita hace unos 8 años mientras leía el prólogo de una novela de la cual olvidé incluso el nombre pero lo que se fijó en mi memoria, en mis oídos y en mi alma permanentemente fue la música interpretada por quien es para mi uno de los mejores trompetistas y cantantes de toda la historia: Chet Baker quien si no es el mejor al menos lo hace con un sentimiento que no todos pueden imprimir en su música.

Greetings to the musial community #music in #hive I hope you are all very well maybe listening to some good music, this time I want to make a post quite close to the heart because I want to talk about a performer that I discovered by chance about 8 years ago while reading the prologue of a novel of which I forgot even the name but what was fixed in my memory, in my ears and in my soul permanently was the music performed by who is for me one of the best musicians and singers of all history: Chet Baker

No quiero aquí hablar de la vida de Chet Baker de una forma monótona, dando fechas específicas ni mucho menos hacer una reseña con nombres y lugares ni hacer una biografía como muchas que podremos conseguir en internet, simplemente quiero hacer un top de mis 5 temas favoritos interpretados por Baker y tal vez así de manera sencilla a través de la música que he seleccionado puedan ustedes los lectores conocer también a este genio y figura del Jazz de todos los tiempos.

I don't want to talk about Chet Baker's life in a monotonous way, giving specific dates, much less make a review with names and places or make a biography as many that we can get on the web, I just want to make a top 5 of my favorite songs performed by Baker and maybe in a simple way through the music that I have selected you readers can also know this genius and figure of Jazz of all time.

Quise colocar este tema de numero 5 pues trasmite una energía increíble y me gustaría comenzar este top con un tema fresco como este, fresco como los primeros años de la vida del músico nacido en 1929, hijo de padres músicos quien aprendió a tocar la trompeta desde muy temprana edad y que luego estuvo en la milicia, quien dicen tenía un aire a James Dean, un sonido fresco que poco a poco se iría haciendo más estridente y más difícil. En este primer tema que comparto en mi top la interpretación de Baker es un poco más lenta que otras versiones que he escuchado del mismo tema por ejemplo la versión de Stan Getz que además es meramente instrumental.

I wanted to place this song as number 5 because it transmits an incredible energy and I would like to start this top with a fresh song like this, fresh as the first years of the life of the musician born in 1929, son of musician parents who learned to play the trumpet from an early age and then was in the military service, who they say had an air of James Dean, a fresh sound that would gradually become more strident and more difficult. Chet Baker fue en esencia un maravilloso trompetista pero siempre observo con admiración su capacidad para cantar tan bien como ejecutaba la trompeta, comencé el top con una canción un poco más fresca pero luego pasé a esta faceta melancólica que es para mi donde se encuentra el sonido orgánico, su sonido con más sentimiento donde casi se pueden oír sus riñas personales, sus tristeza y todos sus conflictos.

Chet Baker was in essence a wonderful trumpet player but I always watch with admiration his ability to sing as well as he played the trumpet, I started the top with a slightly cooler song but then moved on to this melancholic side which is for me where the organic sound is, his more soulful sound where you can almost hear his personal struggles, his sadness and all his conflicts.

De todos los temas interpretados por Chet Baker creo que el que más disfruto en cuanto a la letra es esta canción pues me identifico con el asunto de ser chapado a la antigua, así me siento en gran parte de mi vida en muchos momentos. Este tema es uno de mis favoritos también musicalmente recomiendo escucharlo con audífonos de buena calidad y detallar los pequeños sonidos como la textura del redoblante o el Groove increíble que tiene este tema.

Of all the songs performed by Chet Baker I think the one I enjoy the most in terms of lyrics is this song because I identify with the issue of being old-fashioned, that's how I feel in much of my life at many times. This song is one of my favorites also musically I recommend to listen to it with good quality headphones and to detail the small sounds like the texture of the snare drum or the incredible Groove that this song has.

Para mi este tema es en donde más se pueden apreciar ciertas características de la voz de Chet Baker como sus graves y ese color oscuro de la voz, sin presencia de brillos, sin duda una gran interpretación que se eleva por completo justo en el minuto 2:30 cuando entra la trompeta en un solo increíble de notas largas y con un carácter mágico. Se los dejo para su disfrute.

For me this song is where you can most appreciate certain characteristics of Chet Baker's voice as his bass and that dark color of the voice, without the presence of brightness, certainly a great performance that rises completely just at minute 2:30 when the trumpet enters in an incredible solo of long notes and with a magical character. I leave it here for your enjoyment.

Sin dudas el más significativo de todos los temas de Chet Baker para mi es este, la melancolía de esta canción y su interpretación realmente impactan además les dejo esta grabación en vivo que esta muy bien capturada y producida por Jean-Marie Duprez donde además de escuchar se puede ver el rostro del músico, del hombre golpeado por la vida y sus cuitas, donde se puede escuchar y observar todo el dolor de ese gran artista quien apenas un tiempo más adelante seria encontrado muerto en Ámsterdam a las afueras de su hotel en el año 1988.

Undoubtedly the most significant of all Chet Baker's songs for me is this one, the melancholy of this song and its interpretation really impact and I leave you this live recording that is very well captured and produced by Jean-Marie Duprez where besides listening you can see the face of the musician, the man beaten by life and his troubles, where you can hear and observe all the pain of this great artist who only a short time later would be found dead in Amsterdam outside his hotel in 1988.

Les dejo este tema como bonus por dos razones importantes la letra y su relación casi inseparable con el personaje y además que así fue llamada la película realizada en el año 2015 y que trata sobre un momento bastante duro de la vida del músico interpretado en esta oportunidad por Ethan Hawke en una pelicua que sinceramente recomiendo a los amantes de la música.

I leave this song as a bonus for two important reasons the lyrics and its almost inseparable relationship with the character and also that it was called the film made in 2015 and that deals with a pretty hard time in the life of the musician played this time by Ethan Hawke in a movie that I sincerely recommend to music lovers.
