Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post súper chévere en el cual les hablaré sobre 10 de mis canciones favoritas. Realmente es difícil escoger 10 canciones de las miles que he escuchado en toda mi vida. Canciones que he escuchado en la radio, canales, series, películas, locales, etc, hay demasiado de donde escoger así que hay mucha variedad.
Personalmente soy una persona que escucha casi cualquier género, sea clásica, metal, rap, trap, pop, reggaeton, electrónica, k-pop, entre muchos otros géneros y capaz mencione una canción de cada género. Nunca seré de esas personas que opinan que otro género no es música por más irritante que me parezca, porque todos tenemos distintos gustos y los artistas tienen su propia forma de hacer música. Así que vamos!
Hello again! Today I bring you a super cool post in which I will talk about 10 of my favorite songs. It's really hard to choose 10 songs out of the thousands I've listened to in my whole life. Songs that I have listened to on the radio, channels, series, movies, local, etc, there are too many to choose from so there is a lot of variety.
Personally I am a person who listens to almost any genre, be it classical, metal, rap, trap, pop, reggaeton, electronic, k-pop, among many other genres and I might mention a song from each genre. I will never be one of those people who think that another genre is not music no matter how irritating I find it, because we all have different tastes and artists have their own way of making music. So let's go!
Lo malo de ser bueno - Cuarteto de Nos
Cuarteto de Nos es mi banda favorita desde siempre. Recuerdo que cuando estaba en bachillerato un amigo me mostró una canción de ellos llamada "Me amo" y quedé fascinada. Cuando llegué a mi casa comencé a buscar su música y quedé maravillada con sus letras. Yendo a Casa de Damián, Mi Lista Negra, Así soy yo, Invierno del 92, y un sinfín de canciones excelentes que tiene este gran grupo. Mi favorita entre todas es "Lo malo de ser bueno", cuya letra trata de que a veces ser bueno no sirve de mucho en un mundo donde la maldad abunda. Tiene una melodía y ritmo bueno y aunado con una letra maravillosa con la que nos podemos sentir identificados de una u otra forma, la hace una canción excelente.
Cuarteto de Nos has always been my favorite band. I remember when I was in high school a friend of mine showed me one of their songs called "Me amo" and I was fascinated. When I got home I started looking for their music and was amazed with their lyrics. Going to Casa de Damián, Mi Lista Negra, Así soy yo, Invierno del 92, and an endless number of excellent songs that this great group has. My favorite of all is "Lo malo de ser bueno", whose lyrics are about how sometimes being good doesn't help much in a world where evil abounds. It has a good melody and rhythm and combined with a wonderful lyric with which we can feel identified in one way or another, makes it an excellent song.
Not Afraid - Eminem
Eminem es mi rapero favorito desde la primera vez que lo escuché en VH1. Canciones como We made you, Without me o My name is, me maravillaron porque vi que a él no le importaba lo que dijeran los demás y eso lo admiraba mucho, a pesar de que muchos a mi alrededor lo odiaban. Leí sobre su historia y la verdad su duro pasado me hizo empatizar mucho con él, sus luchas y como pudo llegar al éxito que tiene ahora me parece inspirador. "Not Afraid" conjuga todo eso, los miedos y obstáculos que se presentan en nuestra vida, es una canción realista, un poco cruda en cuanto a la realidad y es conmovedora, realmente amo esta canción.
Eminem is my favorite rapper since the first time I heard him on VH1. Songs like We made you, Without me or My name is, amazed me because I saw that he didn't care what others said and I admired him a lot, even though many around me hated him. I read about his story and the truth his tough past made me empathize with him a lot, his struggles and how he was able to reach the success he has now I find inspiring. "Not Afraid" conjugates all of that, the fears and obstacles that come up in our life, it's a realistic song, a bit raw in terms of reality and it's touching, I really love this song.
Born This Way - Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga me parece una artista asombrosa y magnífica, desde que su fama tomo auge con la canción Just Dance quedé maravillada con su estilo. Me consideraba una "Little Monster" (así se hacían llamar los fans de Lady Gaga) y amaba su estilo extravagante. Era increíble como ella hablaba de temas "polémicos" en sus letras para ese entonces, además de que lo hacía de manera sutil, cosa que muchos no entendían o simplemente ignoraban. Aunque Lady Gaga tenga canciones más exitosas como Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Poker Face, Telephone, Alejandro o hasta Shallow, siento que "Born this Way" es la esencia de ella, una persona que acepta como es y también acepta a los demás independientemente de sus preferencias, apariencia, tamaño, color de piel, etc. Posee una melodía y ritmo pegajoso, además de que el video musical tiene una excelente coreografía y estética.
Lady Gaga seems to me an amazing and magnificent artist, since her fame took off with the song Just Dance I was amazed with her style. I considered myself a "Little Monster" (that's how Lady Gaga's fans called themselves) and loved her flamboyant style. It was amazing how she talked about "controversial" topics in her lyrics back then, plus she did it in a subtle way that many didn't understand or just ignored. Although Lady Gaga has more successful songs like Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Poker Face, Telephone, Alejandro or even Shallow, I feel that "Born this Way" is the essence of her, a person who accepts the way she is and also accepts others regardless of their preferences, appearance, size, skin color, etc. It has a catchy melody and rhythm, plus the music video has an excellent choreography and esthetic.
Sunflower - Post Malone ft. Swan Lee
El soundtrack de "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" me parece fascinante, ya que proyecta de manera adecuada el ambiente en el que se encuentran los personajes y hace más llevadera la trama. Post Malone estaba consolidando su carrera y sus canciones estaban teniendo un éxito rotundo, me incluyo entre sus seguidores. Al principio no le presté mucha atención a la canción hasta que una muy buena amiga me dijo que cada vez que la escuchaba se acordaba de mí, y aunque la letra a veces sea algo ruda, tiene sus cosas conmovedoras ya que trata de una relación de dos personas inseguras que intentan trabajar por combatir esos males internos. Es una canción bastante linda y muy bien producida.
I find the soundtrack of "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" fascinating, as it adequately projects the environment in which the characters find themselves and makes the plot more bearable. Post Malone was consolidating his career and his songs were having a resounding success, I include myself among his fans. At first I didn't pay much attention to the song until a very good friend told me that every time she listened to it she remembered me, and although the lyrics are sometimes a bit rough, it has its touching things as it deals with a relationship of two insecure people trying to work to fight those inner evils. It's quite a nice song and very well produced.
Facade of Reality - Epica
Epica es una banda de metal sinfónico que posee canciones estilo ópera. Es cautivador escuchar sus canciones ya que son obras maestras, además de poseer composiciones originales con gran producción. Tienen maravillas como Cry for the Moon, Blank Infinity, Sancta Terra, o Sensosium. Sin embargo, Facade of Reality es mi favorita entre todas, ya que posee cambios de tempo bien logrados, una orquestación excelente, una coral óptima y mezcla el metal de manera increíble. La letra es excelente, ya que habla de realidades crudas y las diferentes facetas de la humanidad, en las que resaltan las tragedias. Una canción simplemente maravillosa.
Epica is a symphonic metal band with opera style songs. It is captivating to listen to their songs as they are masterpieces, besides having original compositions with great production. They have wonders like Cry for the Moon, Blank Infinity, Sancta Terra, or Sensosium. However, Facade of Reality is my favorite among all of them, since it has well achieved tempo changes, an excellent orchestration, an optimal chorale and mixes metal in an incredible way. The lyrics are excellent, as they speak of raw realities and the different facets of humanity, in which tragedies stand out. A simply wonderful song.
Buen Salvaje - La Vida Boheme
La Vida Boheme es una de las bandas venezolanas que más me gustan, del género rock alternativo. Tienen canciones que mezclan estilos latinos con rock y es increíble lo bien logrado que está. El álbum "Nuestra" posee canciones excepcionales como La Vida Mejor, Nicaragua, Radio Capital, El Zar y la extremadamente melancólica canción llamada Flamingo. De este álbum me gustó muchísimo Buen Salvaje, ya que posee una letra subida de tono pero con palabras que la disfrazan y posee un ritmo que me hace bailar cada vez que estoy sola en mi cuarto. Posee una mezcla de ritmos que se asemejan a la percusión de la música africana y rock alternativo. Realmente una excelente canción.
La Vida Boheme is one of the venezuelan bands I like the most, from the alternative rock genre. They have songs that mix Latin styles with rock and it is incredible how well achieved it is. The album "Nuestra" has exceptional songs like La Vida Mejor, Nicaragua, Radio Capital, El Zar and the extremely melancholic song called Flamingo. From this album I really liked Buen Salvaje, as it has a very up-tempo lyric but with words that disguise it and it has a rhythm that makes me dance every time I am alone in my room. It has a mix of rhythms that resemble the percussion of African music and alternative rock. Really an excellent song.
A Cruel Angel's Thesis - Yoko Takahashi
Hace unos 6 meses hice un top de mis openings de anime favorito y este estaba de primero, incluso le hice un cover (que pueden ver aquí) y la verdad no me canso de escucharlo. La letra es hermosa y motivadora, básicamente siento que se la dedican a Shinji. Esta canción además me transmite una nostalgia grande ya que vi este anime en mi adolescencia. Además de tener un ritmo pegajoso, cambios de tonalidad bien logrados y una melodía genial, es imposible no querer bailar esa canción y cantarla con japonés bastante malo. Simplemente me encanta.
About 6 months ago I made a top of my favorite anime openings and this one was first, I even made a cover of it ( you can see it here) and I really can't get enough of listening to it. The lyrics are beautiful and motivational, basically I feel like it's dedicated to Shinji. This song also transmits me a great nostalgia since I watched this anime in my adolescence. Besides having a catchy rhythm, well achieved key changes and a great melody, it's impossible not to want to dance to this song and sing it with pretty bad Japanese. I just love it.
I like it - Bad Bunny, J Balvin & Cardi B
El género urbano es muy menospreciado porque muchos artistas usan a las mujeres como objetos, tienen letras algo vulgares y realmente, la mayoría no pone mínimo esfuerzo en cantar aunque sea un poquitito. Sin embargo, hay artistas que me parecen brillantes en cuanto a producción ya que aunque muchos no lo crean, algunos artistas del género urbano se especializan en la producción musical y aprovechan esos talentos en hacer canciones (Bad Bunny es uno de ellos). Un ejemplo, es "I like it", una canción bien lograda entre tres artistas de este género que mezcla ritmo latino tradicional con trap y reggaeton, una letra disfrutable y un ritmo pegajoso, una de mis canciones favoritas sin duda alguna.
The urban genre is very underrated because many artists use women as objects, have somewhat vulgar lyrics and really, most do not put minimum effort in singing even a little bit. However, there are artists that I think are brilliant in terms of production because although many do not believe it, some artists of the urban genre specialize in music production and take advantage of those talents in making songs (Bad Bunny is one of them). An example is "I like it", a song well achieved between three artists of this genre that mixes traditional Latin rhythm with trap and reggaeton, an enjoyable lyric and a catchy rhythm, one of my favorite songs without a doubt.
Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47 - Jean Sibelius
Este concierto de violín compuesto por Jean Sibelius en 1903 es mi concierto de violín favorito. Ya el comienzo me pareció bastante interesante desde el primer momento que lo escuché y luego de escucharlo completo quedé sumamente maravillada, nunca imaginé que un concierto de violín me llegaría tanto al alma. Compuesto de tres movimiento de Allegro moderato, Adagio di molto y Allegro non tanto que se conjugan de manera tan increíble y que en la manos correctamente estudiadas suena como si estuvieses en otro plano, hacen de esta obra algo magistral. Increíblemente disfrutable al tocar y escucharlo.
This violin concerto composed by Jean Sibelius in 1903 is my favorite violin concerto. Already the beginning seemed quite interesting from the first moment I heard it and after listening to it in its entirety I was extremely amazed, I never imagined that a violin concerto would touch my soul so much. Composed of three movements of Allegro moderato, Adagio di molto and Allegro non tanto that come together in such an incredible way and that in properly studied hands sounds as if you were in another plane, make this work something masterful. Incredibly enjoyable to play and listen to.
Cornerstone - Arctic Monkeys
Arctic Monkeys es una banda de rock de UK cuya actividad se registra desde 2002. El primer album que escuché de ellos fue Humbug, me recuerda mucho a mi adolescencia. Dangerous Animals, Pretty Visitors o My Propeller son algunas de las canciones del álbum que más me gustaron, sin embargo una canción resaltaba y era "Cornerstone". Esta canción no es muy conocida ya que de por sí ese álbum no tuvo tanto éxito como "Suck It and See" con canciones tales como su homónima, Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair, o también el famosísimo "AM" con canciones como Do I Wanna Know?, R U Mine? o Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?. A pesar de tener otras canciones excelentes, Cornerstone tiene una carga especial para mí ya que su letra es bastante melancólica relatando a una persona que acaba de dejar a una persona que quería mucho, además de marcarme mucho en mi adolescencia y transmitirme una increíble nostalgia. Es una canción de la que nunca me canso y puedo escucharla muchas veces sin aburrirme.
Arctic Monkeys is a UK rock band whose activity has been recorded since 2002. The first album I listened to of them was Humbug, it reminds me a lot of my adolescence. Dangerous Animals, Pretty Visitors or My Propeller are some of the songs from the album that I liked the most, however one song stood out and that was "Cornerstone". This song is not very well known since that album was not as successful as "Suck It and See" with songs such as its namesake, Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair, or the very famous "AM" with songs like Do I Wanna Know?, R U Mine? or Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? In spite of having other excellent songs, Cornerstone has a special charge for me since its lyrics are quite melancholic telling of a person who has just left a person I loved very much, besides marking me a lot in my adolescence and transmitting me an incredible nostalgia. It is a song that I never get tired of and I can listen to it many times without getting bored.

No logro comprender porqué la música tocada con violín ejerce una extraña atracción sobre mí...no había escuchado antes a Jean Sibelius. Excepcional. Incluso he descubierto que las canciones que esconden violines en sus arreglos, sean del género que sea, me atrapan. Es increíble. Y siempre estaré agradecido que la providencia te haya traído acá.

Es cierto, realmente lo que me llevó a tocar violín fue su hermoso sonido y lo que transmite, ya que antes no sabía que instrumento tocar hasta que escuché el violín, y la verdad es que por lo menos este concierto ende violín en particular me transmite todo lo que el violín es, y por eso amo esa pieza. Además de que la violinista que la ejecuta, Hilary Hahn, es personalmente mi violinista favorita, y eso lo hace más especial.

Uff, me provoca hacer algo así como tú, me diste una idea, que bonito la sensación de escuchar música, como te cambia y mejora la vida, mi favorita es la de spyderman, aunque también entra en disputa con el violín de Hilary, es una gran artista los primero que escuche de ella son sus interpretaciones de Bach.
Me alegra que te haya gustado la lista! Personalmente Sunflower es una de las canciones que escucho mil veces y no me canso. En cuanto a Hilary es mi violinista favorita porque además de tocar de manera tan limpia, siento logra transmitir la esencia de cada compositor que ejecuta, y realmente por eso me guío mucho de ella en cuanto a tocar Bach y piezas románticas. Toda una brava!
