How Jeff Buckley died according to Teardrop

It wasn't a suicide. Jeff Buckley, famous for many hit songs like Grace, Last Goodbye and Hallelujah, drowned in a freak accident back in 1997 when he decided to go for a swim while waiting for his band to arive on site for their ongoing tour.

Massive Attack's Elizabeth Fraser used to be his friend, and unofficially dedicated the song Teardrop to him. The music video shows a baby still in the uterus, isolated and safeguarded from the world around him. Although clinically depressive, this could be a hint to what really happened.

So far this post only shows historical facts, but you're now entering theory territory. Let's first assume it really wasn't a suicide from any perspectives, because:

We have a police report, a medical examiner's report, and an eye witness to prove that it was an accidental drowning and that Mr. Buckley was in a good frame of mind prior to the accident. source

Why would he suddenly decide to go for a swim? It was relaxing to him. Not swimming per se, of course, but the isolation that being submersed in water provided. This act was very present in the arts he worked on.

Like the people who go underwater in their own bathtubs because they feel disconnected from the anguish of the rest of their worlds, Jeff just wanted to take a little break. He wanted to feel a bit of peace. Accostumed to doing this, he just floated in the water for a while. He never saw the boat coming.

Now, why I suggest would water submersion brings him peace? Elizabeth Fraser was his friend, which means they had actual private conversations. Yet, like previously said, Massive Attack chose a baby in a uterus for their Teardrop music video. This represents peace, not death or anything else with any sort of negativity.

Even more so, the video display the baby as the one doing the singing. The little creature who is completely safe and sane, without a single worry in the world, has been chosen to represent the tribute. If this theory is correct, it means Jeff died doing exactly what gave him some peace of mind.

My heart goes out to you, Jeff, and every one of your fans out there.
