Todo aquel que miente solo se engaña a sí mismo, tarde o temprano la mentira será descubierta siendo él quien terminará creyendo en esa ilusión que creó para ver que su vida era mejor. ¿Cuantos se engañan a sí mismos cada día mientras creen estar engañando a los demás? Todos ven su cara tras el disfraz, se visten con los trajes más honorables, se presentan con orgullo mientras siguen moviendo los hilos para lograr algún provecho personal.

Van cambiando la careta de acuerdo a la situación, repitiendo el léxico que les ayuda a lograr cuajar el montón de mentiras que tienen a mano. La conciencia en solo una palabra en el diccionario que alguna vez escuchan nombrar en la boca de otros. Hace mucho que no la usan o es que ¿jamás la usaron? Y mientras la vida pasa siguen siendo depredadores de sueños, con sus mentiras se llevan sonrisas, toman momentos preciados convirtiéndolos en malos recuerdos.

Pero al final la mentira se cae en picada y el mentiroso queda solo repitiendo una y otra vez la misma mentira, mirándose en el espejo sin ser capaz de ver su propio reflejo.

Mientes tan bien es una canción del género balada pop, es uno de los sencillos del disco De Viaje (2003) del dúo Sin Banderas, agrupación que estuvo conformada por el mexicano Leonel García, quien escribió este tema, y el argentino Noel Schajris desde el año 2000 hasta el 2008. Esta canción nos habla sobre el amor correspondido donde la persona enamorada dice creer en el amor del otro aunque en el fondo sabe que tal amor solo existen en su fantasía.
