Whats up people! A few weeks ago I started to share with you my favorite music videos according to the aesthetics and style they have. This time I bring you 5 animated music videos in collage style.

The collage is a technique of artistic creation that I like very much, first of all, at a visual level I love it because of the mixture of different figures, colors and textures that can be used, it is an art with a wide range of possibilities. On the other hand, I like that the process of creation starts from a place of experimentation, it requires thinking out of the box and having balance in the composition, in order to break aesthetic rules and create something visually attractive.

¡Que dice la gente! Hace unas semanas empecé a compartirles mis videos musicales favoritos de acuerdo a la estética y estilo que tienen. En esta oportunidad les traigo 5 videos musicales al estilo collage.

El collage es una técnica de creación artistica que me gusta muchísimo, primeramente, a nivel visual me encanta por la mezcla de diferentes figuras, colores y texturas que puede llegar a emplear, es un arte con un amplio abanico de posibilidades. Por otra parte, me gusta que el proceso de creación parte desde un lugar de experimentación, requiere pensar fuera de la caja y tener equilibrio en la composición, para así romper reglas estéticas y crear algo visualmente atractivo.

I like all kinds of artistic collages, the ones that use many different elements and colors, the ones that add text, or the minimalist ones, it's really the abstract finish they have in general that makes me like collages so much. Sometimes they seem to put pieces together arbitrarily and other times the pieces fit together in such a way that a concept and a message is conveyed, but no matter if the elements are arbitrary or intentional the collage has an undeniable visual impact that is very catchy.

As striking as the collage is, it is natural that this aesthetic has been transposed from the static photographic format to the moving format provided by the video, and music videos that recreate this aesthetic will start to be created. Por mi parte me gustan todo tipo de collages artísticos, los que emplean muchos elementos y colores diferentes, los que añaden texto, o los minimalistas, esn realidad es el acabado abstracto que tienen en general lo que hace que me gusten tanto los collages. Unas veces parecen unir piezas arbitrareamente y otras veces las piezas encajan de tal forma que plantean un concepto y un mensaje, pero sin importar que los elementos sean arbitarios o intencionados el collage tiene un impacto visual innegable que atrapa muchísimo.

Con lo llamativo que es el collage es natural que esta estética se haya traspolado del formato fotografico estático al formato en movimiento que brinda el video y se empezaran a crear videos musicales que recreen esta estética. A continuación les presento una serie de video musicales que recrean el estilo de los collage, espero lo disfruten.

This video consists of a static shot with moving layers. In this case the fixed shot is focused on Andy's face, while the rest of the images are arranged in layers, some are on top of Andy's face and others behind, and these go in and out.

Something I really like about this video collage is the vintage aesthetic it has. In general, all the photographs have a kind of noise and colorization that makes them look vintage, but there are specific details that I love:

First, the main photograph, the one of Andy, is in black and white, which reinforces a lot that aesthetic by generating contrast with the color photographs, at the same time, they used many photographs of retro elements, like old cars, screw phones, and people with outfits like from the 60's, so everywhere I look it is a very vintage and very beautiful composition.

Este video consiste en un plano fijo con capas en movimiento. En este caso el plano fijo se enfoca en la cara de Andy, mientras que el resto de imagenes son dispuestas en capas, unas van encima del rostro de Andy y otras detras, y estas van entrando y saliendo.

Algo que me gusta mucho de este video collage es la estética vintage que tiene. En general, todas las fotografías tienen una especie de ruido y colorización que las hace ver vintage, pero hay detalles puntuales que me encantan:

Primero la fotografía principal, la de Andy, es en blanco y negro, lo cual refuerza mucho esa estética al generar contraste con las fotografías de color, a su vez, utilizaron muchas fotografías de elementos retro, como autos viejos, telefonos de rosca, y personas con outfits como de los años 60, asi que por donde lo vea es una composición muy vintage y muy preciosa.

From beginning to end Up&Up is a surreal collage in motion, it is very entertaining to watch because the mixture of videos so different from each other surprises you, they are funny, beautiful and inevitably striking compositions. Here they join shots from different contexts incongruent with each other and mix them in a witty and creative way, that's why we see sequences like skydivers jumping from a plane to a plate of pasta 🍝 or a volcano erupting popcorn 🤣 Crazy!

De principio a fin Up&Up es un collage surrealista en movimiento, es muy entretenido de ver porque la mezcla de videos tan diferentes entre sí te sorprende, son composiciones graciosas, bonitas e inevitablemente llamativas. Aquí unen tomas de diferentes contextos incongruentes entre sí y las mezclan de manera ocurrente y creativa, es por ello que vemos secuencias como la de unos paracaidistas saltando desde un avión hacia un plato de pasta 🪂🍝 o un volcán que erupciona cotufas 🤣 ¡De locos!
