Howdy, Hivers. On many occasions I have covered several bands with my electric bass and as a bass player, I have been asked which are the best bass players or the best known of the bands to which I do these reviews and covers, in this was born the idea of also talk a little of the member of the bands that may be ignored, which are the bass players; but although it seems arrogant to say it and more by a bass player himself, the bass plays an extremely important role in any group for the harmonic and melodic importance it represents. Known for having been bassist and singer of the band "Cream" in 1966, along with guitarist Eric Clapton "Jack Bruce" was a Scottish bassist recognized worldwide for having been part of several bands and big bands as bassist and bassist; also he was always together with other great musicians who made the music of the 70's and 80's innovative styles.

En muchas ocasiones he realizado cover de diversas bandas con mi bajo eléctrico y como bajista, me han preguntado cuales son los mejores bajistas o los más conocidos de las bandas al cual les hago estas reseñas y covers, en esto nace la idea de también hablarles un poco del miembro de las bandas que tal vez sea ignorado, que son los bajistas; pero aunque parezca arrogante decirlo y más por un propio bajista, el bajo juega un rol sumamente importante en cualquier agrupación por la importancia armónica y melódica que representa. Conocido por haber sido bajista y cantante de la banda “Cream” en 1966, junto con el guitarrista Eric Clapton “Jack Bruce” fue un bajista escocés reconocido a nivel mundial por haber formado parte de varias bandas y big bands como bajista y contrabajista; además siempre estuvo en conjunto con otros grandes músicos que hicieron de la música de los 70´s y 80´s estilos innovadores.
MUSICAL HISTORY
Jack Bruce, was a Scottish bassist born in 1943, who in his teens began playing jazz, even this cost him his stay in the music academy, I tell you: in the decade of the 60's was quite frowned upon jazz music, perhaps because of its peculiar and irreverent way, the hundred is that Jack wins a scholarship for cello and composition at the Royal Scottish Academy, this being a prestigious academy of music and other arts, but while studying he was in a jazz band, the academy to learn of this exhorts him to leave "the academy or jazz music" and that's how Jack leaves the academy and therefore his scholarship. Jack Bruce, fue un bajista escocés nacido en 1943, que en su adolescencia empezó tocando jazz, incluso esto le costó su permanencia en la academia de música, les comento: en la década de los 60´s era bastante mal visto la música jazz, tal vez por su forma peculiar e irreverente, lo ciento es que Jack gana una beca de chelo y composición en la Royal Scottish Academy, siendo esta una prestigiosa academia de música y otras artes, pero mientras estudiaba se encontraba en una banda de jazz, la academia al enterarse de esto lo exhorta a dejar “la academia o la música jazz” y es así como Jack abandona la academia y por lo tanto su beca. Con el tiempo conoce a Eric Clapton, mientras pertenecía a la banda John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, empiezan una buena amistad musical y al poco tiempo crean la banda por la cual es más reconocido y logra gran éxito, esta banda es “Cream” una banda británica que a pesar de su corta carrera tuvo buena proyección. Luego de la disolución de cream, realizó muchos otros proyectos de jazz y rock hasta su muerte en 2014, debido a complicaciones por su hígado el cual le fue trasplantado en 2003.

Technically Jack had a masterful way of playing jazz, and if we talk about subtlety this has been one of those bassists with fast fingers and at the same time with a very clean execution and with him we find another bassist who has that incredible ability to play and sing fluently and almost without mistakes. A magnificent bass player who left us a lot of great works and good music.
Técnicamente Jack tenía una magistral forma de tocar el jazz, y si hablamos de sutileza éste ha sido uno de esos bajistas con dedos veloces y a la vez con una muy limpia ejecución y con él nos encontramos otro bajista que tiene esa increíble habilidad de tocar y cantar de manera fluida y casi sin errores. Un magnifico bajista que nos dejó una gran cantidad de obras y buena música.
