Hello, Hivers. Within the bands, groups or ensembles have always drawn attention to instruments with high frequencies, such as violin or guitar, which generally are the most striking instruments, but in this section of my blog, I will focus mostly on great bassists famous for their career or those new talents of these new times. The electric bass usually is not a very striking instrument for many, besides the great rockstars are always the guitarists or vocalists, but although it may not seem so, the bass and the bassist play an extremely important role, where in many cases the central axis of the musical themes is carried by the bass and usually those who create the bands are the bassists or are the producers. A bassist who became a bassist because one of the founders of "Talking Heads" and Tina's boyfriend, encouraged her to learn to play this instrument to play with the band; this is the reason why "Martina Michèl "Tina" Weymouth" became the bassist of this mythical band of the 80's known for their big hit "Psyco Killer" and for her very characteristic style and way of playing. She was considered to enter the "Hall of Fame", besides being a very well known bass player in the music scene.

Dentro de las bandas, agrupaciones o ensambles siempre han llamado la atención los instrumentos con frecuencias altas, como el violín o la guitarra, que por lo general son los instrumentos más llamativos, pero en esta sección de mi blog, me centraré en su gran mayoría en grandes bajistas famosos por su trayectoria o esos nuevos talentos de estos nuevos tiempos. El bajo eléctrico por lo general no es un instrumento muy llamativo para muchos, además los grandes rockstar siempre son los guitarristas o vocalistas, pero aunque no lo parezca, el bajo y el bajista juegan un rol sumamente importante, donde en muchos casos el eje central de los temas musicales lo lleva el bajo y por lo general quienes crean las bandas son los bajistas o son los productores. Una bajista que llegó a serlo gracias a que uno de los fundadores de “Talking Heads” y novio de Tina, la animó a aprender a tocar este instrumento para que tocase con la banda; esta es la razón por el cual “Martina Michèl "Tina" Weymouth” se convirtió en la bajista de esta mítica banda de los 80´s conocida por su gran éxito “Psyco Killer” y por su estilo y forma muy característica de tocar. Fue considerada para entrar en el “Salón de la fama”, además de ser una muy conocida bajista en el medio musical.
MUSICAL HISTORY
"Tina Weymouth" is a bass player born in California in 1950, who became a bass player thanks to the request of her boyfriend and member of "Talking Heads", in this case, Tina was not one of those musicians who since childhood was dedicated to music, but by mere chance or rather, by the need of the band, Tina was given the idea to learn to play this instrument. It is here where her musical life begins, where she participates in all the band's recordings and concerts. During the "Talking Heads" hiatus, Tina created a project called "Tom Tom Club" with the participation of two of her brothers, as well as being a judge in the second edition of the Independent Music Awards.
“Tina Weymouth” es una bajista nacida en california en 1950, quien se convirtió en bajista gracias a la petición de su novio y miembro de “Talking Heads”, en este caso, tina no fue una de esas músicos que desde pequeña se dedicó a la música, sino que por mera casualidad o mejor dicho, por la necesidad de la banda, a tina se le dio la idea de aprender a tocar este instrumento. Es acá donde empieza la vida musical de ella, donde participa en todas las grabaciones de la banda y conciertos. Para la época de pausa de “Talking Heads” Tina, crea un proyecto llamado “Tom Tom Club” donde cuenta con la participación de dos de sus hermanos, además de haber sido jurado en los Independent Music Awards en su segunda edición.

Conjugating the low notes with the play of high and cut notes, using reggae-funk in many of the band's songs, or marking her bass lines with the characteristic tina syncopation, are among the favorite techniques used by her with the use of her fingers. She was rarely seen using the pick technique.
