Hello, Hivers. Within the bands, groups or ensembles have always drawn attention to instruments with high frequencies, such as violin or guitar, which generally are the most striking instruments, but in this section of my blog, I will focus mostly on great bassists famous for their career or those new talents of these new times. The electric bass usually is not a very striking instrument for many, besides the great rockstars are always the guitarists or vocalists, but although it may not seem so, the bass and the bassist play an extremely important role, where in many cases the central axis of the musical themes is carried by the bass and usually those who create the bands are the bassists or are the producers. Known for being the lead bassist of "Black Sabbath" as well as being recognized by many other bassists as the master of masters and precursor of the bass technique for metal "Geezer Butler" has been the influence of many metal bassists, considered as the father of metal technique, marking a turning point for the genre and finally defining the style and structure, besides being the first to introduce other effects such as the wah on the electric bass.

Dentro de las bandas, agrupaciones o ensambles siempre han llamado la atención los instrumentos con frecuencias altas, como el violín o la guitarra, que po lo general son los instrumentos más llamativos, pero en esta sección de mi blog, me centraré en su gran mayoría en grandes bajistas famosos por su trayectoria o esos nuevos talentos de estos nuevos tiempos. El bajo eléctrico por lo general no es un instrumento muy llamativo para muchos, además los grandes rockstar siempre son los guitarristas o vocalistas, pero aunque no lo parezca, el bajo y el bajista juegan un rol sumamente importante, donde en muchos casos el eje central de los temas musicales lo lleva el bajo y por lo general quienes crean las bandas son los bajistas o son los productores. Conocido por ser el bajista principal de “Black Sabbath” además de ser reconocido por muchos otros bajistas como el maestro de maestros y precursor de la técnica de bajo para el metal “Geezer Butler” ha sido la influencia de muchos bajistas de metal, considerado como el padre de la técnica del metal, marcando así un punto de inflexión para el género y definiendo por fin el estilo y estructura, además de ser el primero en introducir otros efectos como el wah en el bajo eléctrico.
MUSICAL HISTORY
Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler, is an English bassist, born in 1949, in his adolescence he learned to play the guitar in a self-taught way, where in spite of it, he was always disciplined in following the recommendations and advices of the learning methods, in that time of adolescent he knows Ozzy Osbourne and they form their first band. They tell as an anecdote that "Tony Iommi" met Geezer, thanks to the fact that he always went to visit a girl he liked and Tony saw him almost daily passing by his house. Since then, knowing each other, they decided to form a band and this is where "Black Sabbath" was born. Another of the anecdotes that arise thanks to the formation of this new band is that Tony, did not want more guitarists in the band and Geezer decides to start as bassist, it could be said that thanks to Tony, he managed to become one of the most respected bassists in the world of metal, to the point of being the influence of other bassists who have formed great bands. Another of Geezer's virtues, is that he is the one who has written most of the lyrics for the bands where he has played as well, with his solo project; for Sabbath, in his first album he was the one who wrote almost all the lyrics, taking his influence from his taste for science fiction, religion, terror and fantasy.
Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler, es un bajista inglés, nacido en 1949, en su adolescencia aprendió a tocar la guitarra de forma autodidacta, donde a pesar de ello, siempre fue disciplinado en seguir las recomendaciones y consejos de los métodos de aprendizaje, en ese tiempo de adolescente conoce a Ozzy Osbourne y forman su primera banda. Cuentan como anécdota que “Tony Iommi” conoció a Geezer, gracias a que siempre él iba a visitar una chica que le gustaba y tony lo veía casi a diario pasar por su casa. Desde entonces ya conociéndose, decidieron formar una banda y es acá donde nace “Black Sabbath”. Otra de las anécdotas que surgen gracias a la formación de esta nueva banda es que Tony, no quería más guitarristas en la banda y Geezer decide iniciarse como bajista, podría decirse que gracias a Tony, logró convertirse en uno de los bajistas más respetados del mundo del metal, al punto de ser la influencia de otros bajistas que han formado grandes bandas. Otra de las virtudes de Geezer, es que él es el que ha escrito la mayoría de las letras para las bandas donde ha tocado así mismo, con su proyecto solista; para Sabbath, en su primer disco fue quien escribió casi en su totalidad las letras, tomando su influencia, de su gusto por la ciencia ficción, la religión, el terror y fantasía.

Considered the pioneer or precursor of the bass technique for metal, Geezer is the bassist who gave way to a new way of playing metal and with this he has been consecrated as the father of metal on the electric bass, this said by many of the best bassists of many metal bands, such as: Steve Harris, John Myung or Rex Brown. A speed and groove that redefined the way of playing metal, giving us a new technique and it is here where many other bass players take influence.
Considerado el pionero o precursor de la técnica de bajo para el metal Geezer es el bajista que dio el paso a una nueva forma de tocar el metal y con ello se ha consagrado como el padre del metal en el bajo eléctrico, esto dicho por muchos de los mejores bajistas del muchas bandas de metal, como: Steve Harris, John Myung o Rex Brown. Una velocidad y un Groove que replanteó la forma de tocar el metal, dándonos una nueva técnica y es acá donde toman la influencia muchos otros bajistas.
